Tanya was a charming, responsive and supportive host. The little farmhouse is just adjacent to Tanya’s main house, with a private west-facing garden, complete with patio furniture and BBQ.
The space consists of an open-plan kitchen / dining / living room space which is spacious enough for 5 people to eat comfortably.
The house does get super hot upstairs, even downstairs in the summer months - I recommend closing all the shutters in the house by mid-day, and airing the house out every morning. Tanya provides fans and an AC unit upstairs which makes a bit of a difference.
The pool was a welcome relief against the hot temperature, and we were given the use of it during the day. Just an FYI it is behind the main house, a short stroll from the gite.
The WiFi is shared with the main house and was quite slow at times, especially when it was being used by the family. Tanya also offers DVDs, basic free British satellite TV and French satellite TV.
We had a great stay in the Sud Ouest revisiting old haunts and reconnecting with old friends. The location was ideal for this, 10 minutes from Villereal.
