"The place is located on top of a night club that is open from Wednesday to Saturday up until 6 am. With bells ringing at 7:30am. When confronted about it, owner deflected and lied about the club being in the description. Drunk young people screaming all night long with glass bottles all around. "Found the perfect stopover for our drive down to the South of France. The apartment was really well appointed and was really impressed with the setting and facilities. The cathedral backdrop just added to the experience and was the best alarm clock for our check out the next morning. "We stayed in this lovely property for 4 weeks in June. The owners of the gite were incredibly helpful and always available if needed. The gite is spacious and charming and very well equipped. La Charité is a gem and being in the main street meant that everything was at our fingertips, from the boulangerie to bars to hairdressers. And a great auberge just around the corner. Unlike most old towns there is plenty of parking. I would recommend this delightful gite without hesitation."

"The apartment itself was pretty good. Excellent bathroom and a large lounge. It would be good to have some furniture on the balcony. The surrounding area is quiet and a fair distance from any shops or restaurants. The staff, when you could get hold of them. We were staying in Nevers for the motorcycle world championship at nearby Magny Cours. Three days here is long enough."
