"Food and service excellent, unfortunately the room smelt of damp really badly, the chimes from the church every 30 minutes kept me awake most of the night until I stuffed tissue in my ears, loud noise from cars passing on road, springy bed. Probably the worst nights sleep ever!"

"Great Quirky place to stay - Evening meal food was excellent and the Breakfast was great and plentiful and all cooked to your liking - The Hotel room and facilities were more than adequate - Only downside if you don't like noise is that if there are a lot of guests there booked in, then there is a lot of door banging noise but theres not a lot you can do about that Staff friendly and helpful"

"Pros: Great location if you’re visiting / doing business in Ampthill. Great food and drinks downstairs. The staff were always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Cons: no on premise parking. Closest parking is a municipal lot…10 pounds for 24 hours. When I checked in my room was made up as 2 singles instead of a double as requested. Beds were a tad small & uncomfortable. Walls are thin, I could hear my neighbors “chatting” until midnight the night before I was planning on checking out. Otherwise...

"Couldn’t have wished for a nicer stay. Perfect location to travel into London with frequent trains from Harpenden station. The room was lovely and spacious. The bathroom was luxurious. Breakfast was excellent with great choice and service. Highly recommend. "

"The Brocket Arms overnight stay was really good. The staff and locals were nice & chatty whilst sitting next to a large natural fire place eating lovely food and taking a well earned drink. Would of preferred a full breakfast instead of a continental one but all told, I found it a lovely and relaxing stay."
