"Our stay in the Marriott Hotel in Basel was very nice, however with no breakfast included in the price it was a very expensive experience. We also had to pay for parking which was much more than expected. "

"The hotel offers everything a hotel usually does except a bar or restaurant. However the Novotel next door has both so sorted. A ten minute walk through an undercover tunnel takes you to the railway station and bus and tram terminal so you can get everywhere. The hotel gives you a city pass for reduced cost museum access and free travel. The term Budget sets the scene, but how long do you spend in your hotel when on a City Break?"

"The location was ideal! Next to a square with a farmer's market, a local pharmacy and grocery market was across the street in different directions. Easy walking to many sites, but also right on the trolly/tram line. We were able to easily walk to the two Christmas markets in town. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was large. I would absolutely stay at this location again on a future visit."

"Our accommodations were clean and very comfortable. The pool was great for my son, who needed a change of pace. And the hotel was very close to the Christmas markets, which is why we were there. "

"Clean, comfortable, very close to Basel train station and the main tram line stop. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was big with great water pressure. Front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again."

"This may have been my best hotel stay to date. Traveling from the US to visit the Basel Christmas markets and Hotel Spalentor was centrally located, easy to find, staff was lovely and incredibly helpful, room was beyond expectations, complimentary breakfast had a wide offering and was nicely done - it was a wonderful stay!"

"Staff was excellent, room very good. A bit expensive, but convenient to town center. The area around the hotel had massive construction going on. A bit noisy, but very quiet at night. Two negatives: shower was terrible, one minute it was extremely hot and the next it was suddenly ice cold. Taking a shower was an adventure. Also the room was a bit warm, and the thermostat didn’t work. Overall though, a nice hotel. We’d definitely stay there again."

"The bedsheets were not changed, room was not cleaned, informed twice and then they took action. Otherwise, food location. "

"Fantastic room. Close to the train station. Very clean. Well appointed with a comfortable bed and the best shower I've had in a while. Many amenities offered. The staff was incredibly friendly and gave us a lot of great recommendations. I would stay and recommend to anyone "
