Lovely lake house
Our family of five enjoyed a 6 day stay in late July at this fun and funky A-frame. The online description is very accurate. There are no linens or towels of any kind, so BYO. Washer and dryer are brand new. The mattress in the attic is actually now a normal full size, not an air mattress, and the space up there is cute for kids. We cooked several full meals and found the kitchen had all the necessities. One couch is not very comfortable, but the other is very nice. TV wifi options were fine. Some beach chairs/noodles and kid games available. Would stay again.

Needs some work
Nice location and view of the lake, but needs some work. Beds & furniture very uncomfortable. Electrical outlets: one side worked the other did not. Septic system (?) very noisy.

Great view and location
We enjoyed the lake view and location. We had the opportunity to use the BBQ grill and fireplace. There was a glitch with the water boiler on the first night and we didn't have hot water for a few hours, but we called the landlord and were able to get it resolved. The wifi is somewhat spotty and the cellar bathroom light stopped working midway through our stay, but not a deal breaker since we really enjoyed our stay.

Unique place and gorgeous views
The stay was in a great location and very unique setting. Only difficulty was figuring out the heat. Spent a couple hours trying to get the heat past 55. Once I fixed it all was well. Wifi was subpar. But those are minor and overall stay was great

Great winter getaway!
We had a great time! Owner was very responsive with any issues. Fireplace was the best after day on slopes or hiking. Loved the Aframe! House was very spacious for 4 adults and 2 kids. Many places to sleep. Kitchen was fully equipped. Kids had a blast ice skating and ice fishing on Locke Lake. Gunstock and Mount Major are within 20-25 min. People are very friendly in the area. We even found the best little brewery Muddy Road Brewery! If you love the outdoors this place is for you.

Great Location!
We stayed at this property a few days ago, together with some relatives who traveled from Florida, and we had a great time. We loved the location looking towards the lake. You can enjoy a really nice view from the deck, specially this time of the year with the season changing and all the colors. The house needs some updates, but overall is a large house with plenty of space to accommodate people. Definitely worth it!

Great place
We enjoyed the view, quite neighborhood, big plus that we could take the dogs. Fireplace was a great feature. Living room furniture not comfortable at all. Not easy to sit and relax. I would still go back and visit again.

Sweep floors
We loved the place, 2nd yr we have rented this property, only thing I would say is the floor wasn’t the cleanest this time around, LOTS of dog hair, sand all over floors, we swept up both floors n you can tell it wasn’t cleaned right, besides that we had no other issues

Awful
Where do we begin? This was our first family vacation, my husband and I just got married and took our 4 adult children away. We arrived to overflowing garbage cans. We arrived on a Saturday and was told garbage pickup was not until Monday. The house was dirty and run down. Furniture was broken couches had springs sticking up. There were only a handful of forks (not enough for our family of 8). There was not enough seating for us to even sit outside on the deck and have dinner. The outdoor chairs for the fireplace were broken and limited. The fire place was a bunch of rocks and falling over. The beach was dirty there was no sand and overgrown and mucky. The house smelled and was musty. The downstairs toilet took 4 flushes for toilet paper to go down. We lost power for a day which added to an already awful trip. Needless to stay I was extremely disappointed and it will deter me from ever renting a house again. Perhaps the owner should consider giving the place a face lift and replacing broken furniture. Maybe even spruce up the beach area and provide kayaks or some sort of boating for the lake. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!!

This property is not maintained! The home is only moderately clean
The beds are horrible. The couches broken appliances on their last leg no sheets towels. Ridiculous for travelers. The owners need to take care of the property or correctly advertise and price it.

It was very spacious which worked well for extended family . Nice beach front & lawn for activities
Nice location and good beach front and yard for activities . Enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. Very spacious first floor for family to gather and easy access to the nice wrap around deck. Bedrooms on each floor allowed privacy for family members . There were a good number of chairs and floats available to use. Some aspects of the house are slightly outdated. The light switches were alittle concerning. The couches should be updated since they were both broken. More fans would help to keep the house cooler. It would be nice to be able to use the washer and dryer especially if you were staying for a week or longer. Also having a canoe or kayaks to use would be nice instead of having to transport ours down. We did catch a mouse running around . Garbage cans were half full when we arrived and pretty smelly . Overall a nice vacation home and would rent again .

Not as expected
The photos of the home were not a true representation. The dock and the planked path toward the lake were nonexistent. That's fine, not a big deal. The home was less modern and more dirtier than I had expected. My room smelled musty and stale, as well as the couches. Under my bed was an empty tampad wrapper. I found this pretty disturbing. The backyard had a lot of geese poop, which is fine because what can you do. The lake water grossed me out. The ground was super mushy and I saw a dead rat floating in the lake. If you're going to do a lot of cooking, bring some cookware because the knives are dull and there aren't many pots or pans to accomodate big meals. I was expecting a cozy updated home, but this didn't meet my expectations. Others seem to enjoy it, but this was my experience.

The view undescribably beautiful and the plenty to do, but the place needs some serious updates starting with the couches, mattresses, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.

Had a great time, but had some minor complaints.
Super Clean but slightly rundown. Wish they had told us that the water level was too low for swimming. At the end of the dock it was not quite up to my knees and then got very rocky. We had a great time, though as the fishing was good and we had brought our kayaks. We saw loons and great blue herons. The posting says bring sheets, but you might want to bring mattress pads as well, since the mattresses are all wrapped in plastic mattress protectors. (i ran out to Walmart and picked up a couple cheap ones and then it was fine.) The beds are very comfortable. The master bedroom is gorgeous, but it is in the basement which has a slightly musty odor. (Although not everyone in my family could smell it.) Consequently none of us used that room. I wish the room on the main floor had the the other queen size bed as that floor has a bathroom. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location and home
This lakeside property is excellent...it has nice sandy beach and several docks to launch small boats or a kayak (not a full-size trailered boat). The neighbors are close, but not too close, and with surrounding trees, it has a nice secluded feel to it and the view of the lake is great. Inside, the house is roomy and well apportioned ...the two bathrooms are great, fully modern with a good shower in one and a whirlpool bath with hand-held shower in the other. . The bedrooms are of a good size. There is an indoor circular fireplace which we did not use, but I'm sure would do well in the winter. The outdoor wrap-around deck is very nice, and entryway doors are nice and wide. The kitchen is good, with a large central island and has a full-size fridge, coffee-maker, etc. and is stocked with most utensils you would probably need for a short stay. Wi-fi is excellent...there is no cable tv, but there is a Roku TV, so there was enough content available for our purposes. Cell phone service, at least with Verizon, was very good. The driveway/parking area is large and can accommodate many cars...we had three families there at one time and still had room for parking left-over. Overall, it doesn't get much better and we hope to return again next year.

Great Lake House & Little Lake
Hello, We loved our stay in your lake house. Cute place, nice sandy beach. perfect for little kids too, water is pretty shallow. Our Lab loved it. House has everything you'll need in it. beds are comfortable but i would suggest bringing an extra blanket. the house stays fairly cool. (great in warmer weather) It was windy and cool while we were there but that just gave us an excuse to use that amazing fire pit/place in the living room. water is city so no bottled water needed. hot water and pressure was amazing. there was a few little things that needed fixing. the bathroom door handle was loose (we found tools to fix it), the right slider door lock is broke (we just used the stick given. standard for any slider lol) suggestions...bring pot holders for cooking. there's one there but it is kinda old. and the coffee maker takes #4 triangle style coffee filters. bring fishing poles (great fishing), the grill is charcoal, there are a few lawn chairs (ours are more comfortable)and it is a private lake so you have to get a lake pass (there in the house by the book shelves) and bring it to the Locke Lake Colony Association. its free. they'll give you stickers for your 'motor' boat and trailer to be able to use the boat launch. they give you a map of lake and where ramp is. Over all we Absolutely Loved this place. thank you again. we'll defiantly rent again! sherry, Alan, Heidi, Skip & Zipper

Nice view of the lake, had a blast, but multiple repairs are needed
My kids loved the lake and thought the 4 levels of the home was cool. There's wifi and a fully equipped kitchen. The downside, the docks are quite beat up and borderline safe. I was told a week before my stay that the docks need replacing but were safe. When I arrived there was yellow caution tape across parts of both docks. I was very disappointed. Also, the wooden walkway down to the lake is extremely dangerous and needs to be nailed down or replaced. If you step on certain parts, the other end of the wood will fly up. My 2 yr nephew got hurt because of this. We brought our own kayak, but It would've been easier if there was a canoe or kayak that was already there for use. The rooms are good sized, the tub In the basement doesn't work well so we didn't use. The screen door off the living room needs repairing, it was duck taped. Bring fans because we were super hot! The property did have a bunch of folding chairs and a fire pit which were very useful. Overall we still had lots of fun even with all the repairs that are needed!

One of the best houses
We are a family with 3 kids. We loved the house, very clean and cozy. The location was perfect, and the lake view was amazing. The only downside is no boats or kayaks available, other than that it is one of top 10 houses in the area.
