Enjoying a rural village location, The Byre-Cross Farm is an ideal stay for those wishing to relax in a slice of traditional Devon, yet with all the modern conveniences of contemporary living. With its tucked away edge of village location, you are just a stroll away from the village pub that serves up locally produced ales and food throughout the day.
Enjoy some spectacular views just a short walk from the property for any budding photographer, painter or walker taking in the sites as you look down the valley over Barnstaple and up the river Taw out to sea. Some of the most awe inspiring views and walks can also be found on the rugged Exmoor National Park, and along the North Devon coastline, littered with miles and miles of un-spoilt golden sandy beaches. The principle North Devon market town of Barnstaple is just 2 miles by car and offers a wealth of local and national high street shopping brands, as well as a multi-screen cinema, theatre and super bowl plus, a 12 court tennis complex.
The cottage has been stylishly converted from an old barn and many of the original features have been retained including the round pillars unique to this area of North Devon. The cottage has 3 bedrooms a large master bedroom with an oak king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with a large bath and shower attachment, plus wash-basin and WC. The second bedroom is a twin with 2 single beds and fitted wardrobe and bedside tables and lamps. The third bedroom is a fun bunk bedroom with two adult size single beds.
The family bathroom is just outside the twin bedroom and has an electric power-shower, sink and wc.
The kitchen is set down 3 small steps and has everything you need for family cooking, with an electric cooker and hob, a micro-wave, dishwasher, washer-dryer, large fridge-freezer and all the pots and pans and utensils you'll need.
Down another two steps is the dining area with a large pine table with table cloth and six chairs as well as a dresser with books and games and a music system.
Finally down another couple of small steps is the lounge with two large, comfy sofas and a slate coffee table, along with a flat-screen TV and DVD.
Outside there is a lawned garden which can be accessed via patio doors and has a wood table and chairs and to the left is a secure garden with a gate to keep pets in, here there is another table and benches and a built-in BBQ. The garden pond is tucked away in the corner and is securely fenced in to keep curious children out.
There are some lovely walks from the cottage, where dogs are welcome but should be kept on leads as the fields will be full of sheep.
