Barmouth is one of the most picturesque resorts on the Welsh coast, where the mountains meet the sea, and is surrounded by Snowdonia National Park. This traditional seaside town boasts an enormous sandy beach, perfect for families. Enjoy walks along the promenade and view the beautiful sunset over the slim peninsula which can be watched taking a drink at a local bar at the end of the road. Take in a show at the Dragon Theatre, or visit a local folk club. The town has a gym and a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, making it an ideal destination for a holiday, even out of season.
Other places to visit include a swimming pool in Harlech (10 miles from Barmouth by train or road), Slate Caverns and St Tanwg’s, a little Celtic chapel (about 1500 years old) that was hidden under the sand dunes for hundreds of years. Beach 1 mile.
There are steps or steep slopes in the garden.
