The best is the Location of the hotel!! The room and the bathroom cold be cleaner! The windows are too thin, you can hear everything from outside.

I would not stay here again!
The only good thing about his hotel was the location, very centrally located next to a Metro station and with lots of great things to see nearby. The room however was poorly cleaned, the furniture was in bad shape, the sheets had holes in them, the shower wasn't working properly and was leaking into the rest of the bathroom. Also you cannot leave the AC on during the day so the room was very hot when we arrived at night and took a long time to cool down. I wouldn't stay here again, way to expensive for the services it offered.

Summer vacation
The location was phenomenal! It was a fairly comfortable stay. It has an attached restaurant/cafe, it is just next door to a bakery, and down the road from one of the coolest cafes in town (Sweetophelia Cafe). The only issue we had was some minor cleanliness issues upon our arrival however this was not a big deal at all and we would definitely book again in the future!

Good location to get around
Don' expect your room to be luxury. AC didn't work. Nice hotel staff is nice, will recommend places to eat. They ordered for us tickets to Flamenco show and Park Guel in minutes. Breakfast is no good, it's better to go outside and buy a good breakfast it's not expensive at all.

great location
staff very welcoming and spoke good English. Room large (there were 4 of us). Adequate facilities. Decoration and flooring could do with an update but the room was clean. View from window was of a wall. Great hotel for access to city centre 5 mins walk to airport bus stop. We had to leave early before breakfast so the staff made a picnic for us.

The hotel was in a good location but the room itself was small, the furniture was very in poor condition, and the bathroom had mould in places and an unpleasant smell. Also, although it says there is wifi, it does not work.

Great central location, but a compromise overall.
Went with my wife for 4 nights. Hotel is "relatively" cheap by Barcelona standards, but we tend to only use the room to sleep and shower etc, so not worried about huge amounts of facilities, or even breakfast which is easy enough to get in the numerous cafes nearby. Great central location, right next to a Metro station, but that's the best thing about it. Room was small, the double bed pushed up against the wall so I had to climb out of the end of the bed (also makes it not easy to get out of without disturbing your partner). The sliding doors out onto the balcony were not airtight so a lot of outside noise got in, especially with there being a nightclub directly opposite that is open until 5 or 6 in the morning (you can't hear the club itself just the noisy people coming out of it!!) Air-con was very good but quite noisy. Staff were all very friendly and all spoke English. Bathroom was ok apart from the sizeable damp patch above the shower, but had to go down to reception to ask for more toilet paper as they clearly didn't check to see how much we had and there were no spares in the room. Small fridge which is adequate, but a completely unnecessary desk in the room which took up a lot of room that would have made the room feel larger without it? So, in all, a compromise - you do get what you pay for, but I would still expect to not have a large damp patch on the ceiling or hear quite so much from outside. If you can live with that, this place is ideal!

Reasonable hotel in excellent location
The hotel is very compact - but in terms of the very high prices in Barcelona it probably offers reasonable value for money. It was clean, breakfast was satisfactory. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Its location is excellent - 1 min from Metro, 10 mins from AeroBus.

Great location poor condition
Great location just off from top of La Ramblas but the standard of the rooms is poor. Stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and son. We don't mind basic and have stayed at many budget hotels but this room was shabby. The small window opened onto another wall which was literally inches in front of you so no natural light. The reading light fitting on the wall was loose and the light kept flickering on and off. The beds were uncomfartable especially the pillows which were some kind of weird memory foam cylinder. the room smelt musty and dusty not helped by the lack of natural light and fresh air. The chip board furniture was all chipped and worn. The toilet started leaking from the back at one point, we told the staff before going out for the day, when we returned someone had just shoved a load of towels round the back of the toilet. Breakfast was very basic. Boiled eggs, pieces of baguette, ham,salami, sliced melon, pineapple. croissants, dilute cordial, No fresh juice. A long black hair was sitting on top of the sliced pineapple one morning! On the plus side the staff were friendly and helpful allowing us to leave our luggage at the hotel all day after checking out before our evening flight back, and the shower was good. I am sure better hotels are available for similar price. This hotel is not to be confused with Urquinoana Plaza across the road which is a 4 star classy establishment

A lovely place to start.
The location is excellent! A breezy five minute walk to the city centre and close to local amenities. The pleasant hotel staff are ready and willing to guide you in the right direction, with respect to tours and general navigation of the city. Be aware that Barcelona is a city that never sleeps so expect some noise from the street during all hours, but no more than you would encounter in any other major city. The cleanliness of rooms should be improved, though you do find yourself spending little time there. When you do, you will find a comfortable bed and a very hot shower. I recommend Hotel Urquinaona, and am looking forward to my next stay with them!

My Expectations were met. This is an older hotel with a great location. For the price it was a good value. We were on the top floor with a small terrace onto the street. Noisy, but that's what I expected. Staff was wonderful.
