Having arrived into Barcelona late we had really difficulties locating the property. We would have benefited from directions or a map showing us what it was near or next to.
We rang the bell as instructed for quite sometime but no one answered us, thankfully another guest let us in so we could check-in using the machine. This was ok but very repetitive as we had been asked to check-in online prior which seemed like a pointless task.
There were no welcome greatings inside the apartment, no instructions on how to use things, rules regarding rubbish etc just a sheet with email contact details and a map.
The apartment was extremely dirty with, grease, mold and dust. We didnt feel like we could use the kitchen at all due to the dirt. There was dust on every surface and quite alot of it. This actually made me quite poorly due to allergies. The bathroom also wasnt clean, there was mould and rust everywhere. There was a hole in one of the doors too.
I did contact for help with a broken light and heating. An engineer was sent to repair the light and apparently the heating too but this still didnt work. Without the heating working the apartment was very cold.
The walls are paper thin, we could hear conversations in other apartments and every movement they made from flushing the toilet, running a bath/shower, pulling out chairs and walking around.
The only positive was the great location.
All in all, we did not enjoy our stay at all and communication with the hosts was difficult
