Barcelona was my last stop on my two weeks European vacation. The location in the Gothic Quarter was the number one reason I chose this hotel. The price was decent too.
Since I had only one day in Barcelona I just needed a place that was clean, safe, and in the Gothic Quarter. Jaume I met all my needs and the location was perfect. The furniture was dated, but everything was clean. The building was historic too with fortress like walls lol.
I walked to all the landmarks I wanted to see in the area. Had a great dinner nearby. Did some walking and came home to a peaceful sleep. The church bells from nearby Barcelona Cathedral rings every hour, but to me it was beautiful sound. Slept like a baby and easy checked-out the next morning.
Perfect for a budget stay.

this is a no frills budget hotel. As you would expect the room was small but if you will be out exploring the city all day like me, it's perfect. It's well located to most attractions. I was able to walk to all the places I wanted to visit.
The staff were friendly and even offered to look after my suitcase for me after I checked out if my flight wasn't for a while.
The bed (and pillows) was comfortable and the shower had good pressure temperature. I was on the 3rd floor and it wasn't loud at night (you will hear the cathedral bells though as it is very close). No aircon but a ceiling fan that worked well enough. I would like liked a shelf in the shower so I had somewhere to put my shampoo/soap rather then having to leave them on the floor each time but not the end of the world. A kettle to make tea/coffee would also have been nice but again, for the price I wasn't really expecting it.
Overall it was a convenient place to stay, close to everything.
I would stay again as I had no issues.

Overall nice location and property was ok .
They update fee stuff like blankets and mattress etc.
This hotel is in old Barcelona town and within walking distance to many tourism places.
The noise from the guests and street down stair should be handled, e.g. making the room more resistance to noise.
heater wasn’t working properly and we were in winter so room was really cold , u can easily hear all the street noise , furniture was really old , location for the hotel is amazing
Well located little hotel - taxi driver found it with some difficulty as the street is pedestrian access only. Reception staff were helpful including helping me to find a tie shop.
We loved the staff and the flexibility. The guests are also accomodating and were willing to help with all of our needs. Jaume is also in a perfect location.

Like the location right in the middle of historical attractions....and most importantly in between 2 metros that take you anywhere. Also lots of places to eat different foods and local shopping. Direct access into La Rambla ...
Don't like is the noise all night long since it's centrally located...
The wifi access set up seems not very convenient. We got set up eventually but need many tries and had to brought laptop down stairs to see the reception lady.

We picked this hotel based on the high scores on location. It is in the bustling Barrio Gothic area so it is Very convenient if you don’t have a big luggage and taking the metro straight from the airport. Buy T-10 tickets. We had a rolling carry-on each and didn’t mind the walk.
We were in room 10 that had 3 single beds. Hotel has no AC so don’t stay here during the summer. They provided us an electric fan and hair dryer. Bring your own toiletries: soap, shampoo, toothpaste. We had a balcony that was great for people watching (we observed and heard the protesters coming from plaza Jaume from our room). There is no safe. There is no breakfast but outside there are dozens of coffee shops and restaurants. There is a soda and coffee vending machine in the lobby. WiFi is fast. There are multiple electric outlets. There is a Tv we didn’t turn on. There is somebody in the front desk 24 hours a day and they are friendly and helpful. They provide maps and tour information. You have to leave your room key with front desk before heading out of the building. Our towels were changed every day. Trash was taken out everyday. We felt safe in the building and in the area. The bathroom is very small but we were happy with the strong water shower pressure.
The location in the center brings with it noise from the outside even at night so be prepared for that. We walked everywhere from this hotel. Taxi to airport (we checked out at 3am to go to the airport) is €35.
Beware of pickpockets.
The hotel is very well located for walking to all the sights and wonderful resteraunts of Barcelona. There is some noise at night from the busy street and Cathedral bells.
I love to stay in old hotels in historic districts so I loved this hotel in the Gothic quarter. Right in the middle of the shops and restaurants and an easy walk to the Picasso Museum and beach at Barceloneta. The room was small and very basic but clean and comfortable with a cute balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful and got us tickets to Sagrada Familia when their website said they were sold out. Fair warning though, the busy location means the sounds from the streets below can be noisy.

TOO small for TWO
The staff was very friendly and helpful, however the accommodations were lacking. Extremely small shower and room. NO A/C. Elevator was inoperable several times and had to walk up/down three flights.
This was a real budget hotel so don’t expect posh facilities but it was right in the centre of the old quarter so great for seeing everything
Very clean comfortable beds ceiling fan and really lovely helpful staff
Loads of great bars restaurants and coffee places nearby
So you don’t need breakfast in the hotel ( they don’t provide it)
Really good budget choice
Hotel staff were excellent. Location Great.
However after some rainy weather our 2nd floor hotel room started to flood from the walls. The girl from the reception at the time was fantastic and helped to prevent the flow of water and dry the floor.
Some of our clothes and bags were soaked as a result of the flooding which occurred a second time on our final night at 4am which led us to leave the hotel hours early and just head to the airport - it was a major issue.
We're still waiting for the director to resolve the issue we had with Hotels.com - hopefully we will hear back soon however the staff on the day were exceptionally helpful - we cannot be more clear!
