Built at the turn of the century and thoughtfully updated with modern comfort in mind, this charming home will give you a wonderful glimpse of historic Bar Harbor. Here on the edge of Glen Mary Park on the southwest side of the village, you'll be able to walk to the heart of downtown, the oceanfront shore path, and Acadia National Park.

Upon entering this single-level home, you'll be greeted by the original front porch with wrap-around walls of glass that frame views of neighboring Glen Mary Park. Step inside to find a living room for some great family conversations, a full kitchen with white appliances (including a dishwasher for stress-free clean-up), and an adjacent dining room where you can sit down for homemade meals. Toss the day's clothes in the private washer/dryer, head outside for a barbecue on the gas grill and an al fresco dinner on the fenced-in back patio, and end the evening with a movie on the flatscreen TV in the family room. When it's time to turn in, you'll have four bedrooms to choose from - a master bedroom with a queen-size bed, another queen bedroom, and two bedrooms with a pair of twin beds apiece.

July visit
We loved Bar Harbor. The house is walkable to the town square. It was quiet and has off street parking. Management responded quickly to a maintenance concern. The kitchen had what we needed. Wi-Fi for 7 people was tough but we liked our stay.

Perfect location- in need of some updates
The location is absolutely perfect. However, house itself is in need of some updating (chipping paint, some stains on floors etc). There were no outdoor garbage cans and unfortunately no communication with owner to find them. Plenty of space- actually is bigger than photos appear.

Wow
Unbelievably filthy, old (not vintage, old dirty falling apart) and uncomfortable. They did credit us a little for the lack of cleanliness however it took away hours of we calling and waiting on the phone talking to various people to get it to happen. Have never had such a bad experience in a rental especially for the price point. Can’t believe they can continue to rent this place. Not to mention you can lock the front door but the windows next to the front door don’t lock so it’s not very safe.

Not an accurate depiction of the home
Not what we expected - home is old and tired. Decent location but not what the pictures showed on the site.

Walkable
The property was very walkable to town and had a nice cozy outdoor space. I would recommend bringing or buying at the store any condiments needed for basic cooking. This particular property doesn’t have salt/pepper/oil due to their leave absolutely nothing behind policy. For the price we were a bit disappointed with the overall appearance.

Perfect location!
Five/ten minute walk to downtown Bar Harbor, 5 minute drive to Acadia. Plenty of room for our family of 6 plus my parents. Couldn’t be happier with our vacation home!

Summer 2021 family vacation
From the moment we booked this property until the final day of our vacation, the vacasa property management team was extremely helpful and quick to answer any questions we had. They worked over and above while we were there with any issues we had. Thank you for making our stay wonderful!

Excellent stay! The house was clean and was equipped with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio space and grill. This was a great place to come home and relax at the end of an active day. Amazing location- close to carriage roads, trail head and walking distance to Bar Harbor restaurants. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

This cottage is GREAT!!! It is a couple blocks from Main St. We walked to everything in town (getting to the waterfront is less than a mile). The pictures of the cottage are accurate but overall the cottage looks bigger in person. It was more than enough room for our family of four. We enjoyed hanging out in front of the tv together at night and relaxing from the day. It was great having a washer/dryer to do laundry while we were there too. It’s the PERFECT place to stay in Bar Harbor. We LOVED it!

We found this house suited our needs perfectly, mostly a comfortable place to gather in the mornings and evenings after being out and about all day. It is in a quiet neighborhood, just a short walk from downtown Bar Harbor, making it very convenient to NOT have to park in town for restaurants, sightseeing, etc. The four bedrooms and two bathrooms worked great for our situation - two different families - and that was a plus. Plenty of space in the kitchen, dining area, and two sitting rooms. It was too warm -- yes, too warm in Maine! -- to use the porch, but it wasn`t too well furnished anyway. The back patio is functional, but was too warm to use while we were there, and the gas grill was a nice touch as we used it for some grilling one evening. The 4 a/c window units and 2 fans kept the air cool throughout the home. Parking could have fit 3 cars, our two big ones fit well. A few suggestions we`ve made to the hosts, who were great, were ... provide an ironing board to go along with the iron, install a disposal in the kitchen sink, and secure the front porch better. The porch windows could slide open easily, a good thing, but there wasn`t a way (we didn`t find one) to lock them. And it is only the outside porch door that locks when you leave, not the inside door, so too easy for someone to get past the porch windows and into the house while you`re away. Luckily Bar Harbor is a quiet town for the most part, and we had no problems, always back in the house with both doors locked during the evening.

This is a great location if you`re visiting Bar Harbor. Downtown was only a short walk away, but the house was located on a quiet residential street away from crowds and noise. Groceries, restaurants, and shops are very close, and there`s even a farmers` market a few blocks away on Sundays. Stop at nearby Parsons for all your seafood needs and take a quick drive to visit nearby Acadia National Park. Our visit wasn`t without its hiccups, but it was easy to communicate with Katie, and Dale was only a phone call away if needed. We would stay here again.

The house was great. Great location, very clean, very well equipped with everything you`d need (in the kitchen, the TV/wifi, etc), and good beds! Very nice street. We went with our family of four, and it was perfect. We either walked, rode bikes, or drove a very short stretch into town (if we were tired from hiking), and we went into the park every day. We took the Bicycle Express from town if we were going into the park with bikes, which was extremely convenient and easy - better than going by car. We took the shuttles into the park sometimes, and drove to the visitors center sometimes. Grocery store nearby (5 minutes by car), bike rental places, etc. Acadia National Park was spectacular!!!
