Older home in great location.
This is an older home undergoing some current reconstruction (new windows) but was clean and in a great location near Bar Harbor. We enjoyed it!

Bar Harbor and Acadia were incredible. Property had a replacement, unfinished window in first floor bedroom. Stairs to beach are a hazard and made us not want to use the beach.

Looks are deceiving
If everything with the house was like the pictures and as advertised, I would have given it a 5 star. If the price was lower because of the compromised stairs to the water and the typical wear on that age of house I would have also given it 5 stars. I feel we really overpaid for what we were given and looking under the beds and other furniture was disgusting.

Acadia and Bar Harbor Experience
Was the perfect spot near everything yet private. We loved the place and was very clean. Especially love the walk to the water. Inside is a little dated and a couple of blinds needed some repair but overall was perfect and would recommend!

Great Location
Cute house. Like staying at granddad’s cottage! It’s dated in a nostalgic way. Perfect location, close to Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. Enjoyed the screened porch overlooking the back yard with water view. Set back off the road so it feels private. The winter storms took out the stairs to the beach area, but it was just a little scramble up and down the embankment. We would definitely stay again if we come back to the Bar Harbor area.

A great place!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The house is spacious and has a very well stocked kitchen. The waterfront access is wonderful. The house feels very private and secluded, but it is so close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Our family really enjoyed our time at this house.

Older home 4 miles from Acadia
Before this house is rented again, I implore the owners to have reliable workers to finish windows on interior(windows not framed out, nor do windows fit the whole). Shrubbery, weeds outside have taken over the house. Oak tree growing out of front porch. Shrubbery looks like this place has been neglected for years. As we drove up, I was sick to my stomach thinking I was staying in a completely neglected property. 2 screen doors didn't even close. The property would be a lovely older seaside home if someone would bother to take care of it. We spent most of our time away from the property so we didn't have to spend time there.

Perfect home
Secluded on a wooded lot, this waterfront gem was perfect for our family. We hope to come back! The walk to the shore is short and you can see a bit of the water from the back if the home. Loved the beautiful wooden floors throughout. We saw a buck and a bald eagle right on the property! Awesome!

Really nice
Pros: - clean - great location - charming cottage - well stocked - direct oceanfront access - wooded atmosphere/privacy - value - responsive property manager - small checkout/clean-up to-do list Cons: - guests may not use the fireplace - main level master bedroom mattress was overly soft/worn Would definitely stay again

Bar Harbor
Lovely property just outside of Bar Harbor. Stayed in hotels before in town; this is first time doing VRBO and would do this again. House was just right size for 4 adults. Linens and towels provided. Had stuff to make coffee, tea, etc. Fans are provided, no A/C but just use fans and open windows. They could use a better marker or something out front by the driveway to identify house, especially at night. Back yard, there is a short walk to the beach. Overall, great experience and would do this again.

Great house!
We loved this house! The location was perfect: not too far from town but far enough away fromt he crowds. Perfect size for our group of 4 to spread out and be comfortable. 2 very minor things: lignt going up the upstairs didnt work, and a nightlight in the upstairs hallway would be very helpful for middle of the night trips to the bathroom. Also, I would suggest marking the driveway a little better. We came in at dark and it was hard to see. Overall, we loved our stay, and would stay again if we ever find ourselves here again.

Flea Infestation, difficulty contacting property manager
This place has a lot of potential but needs work. It is not as described online. When we pulled up we noticed overgrown bushes around the home and the lawn needed mowing. Two of the windows appeared recently replaced and the trim around them was not finished. Several windows were missing screens. The stairs to the beach are unsafe as a result of storm damage. My daughter woke up covered in flea bites. We discovered that the room she was sleeping in upstairs (with one of the unfinished windows) was infested with fleas! We called customer service but they failed to send anyone out to check. After multiple attempts to contact them we left and went to a motel. My husband and I had to fight to get our money back. I finally contacted the Better Business Bureau. Vacasa eventually refunded me for the unused nights but did not refund my fees.

4.5 Stars - Enjoyed the stay
We stayed in this home with another couple, and found it to be a great layout and generous amount of space for two couples. The kitchen is large with all needed cutlery and cookware, and we enjoyed the screened porch. The upstairs is bright and airy. The windows are in the process of being replaced, but nearly all had screens so it was no problem opening for a breeze, the temperature was comfortable. The house is fairly sparsely appointed and the living room couch isn't comfortable, however the furniture and decor are very accurately depicted in the photos so I'm not complaining. It looks just like the pictures. We took advice from one reviewer and brought something colorful to hang on the mailbox. It is super easy to miss, even during the day, and GoogleMaps initially routed us to the neighbor's house. It could benefit from better signage. We booked this house primarily for the beach and were concerned about beach access but it wasn't a problem. All of Acadia's coast shows damage from a brutal winter storm, and understandably this property's coastline is in the cleanup phase as well. There was a brand new, sturdy wooden staircase down to the beach, and a separate and new walkway, but it was not fully installed. The staircase was leaned up against the "cliff" and felt secure enough, although without the connecting walkway it made for a bit of an awkward pivot from the top of the bank to the staircase. It did not hinder us from accessing the beach, we made the quick walk each afternoon with bag chairs (3 are provided, a 4th would have been appreciated), beverages, binoculars, books, etc. It's completely navigable even toting stuff, and one member of our group coming off a knee surgery managed alright, just the angle is weird. We loved sitting on the coast and saw harbor seals and lots of other wildlife. There were a few smaller maintenance items I feel should have been noticed by the cleaners, but we alerted management at check out and they did not impact our stay. Would stay here again.

Vintage charm in Bar Harbor
This adorable property feels like someplace your great aunt and uncle have owned since the 70’s. Well appointed with all the needed basics. Dishwasher is currently not working, which we were told about. Getting down to the ocean from the backyard takes a little bit of navigating but is not a big deal. They were working on the beach area the last day of our stay, in fact. We would definitely visit again!

The house is in a great location. It’s close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The house is set back off the road so it feels private and no traffic noise. The house was clean and had adequate amount of space for 2 couples. The inside of the house looks exactly like the pictures shown. Except the outside of the house looks aged and could use a little TLC. The trees by the turn around area could be trimmed and the landscaping could be cut back to make it look more appealing. It would be nice if a fire pit was added in the back yard for an added bonus and if a few more bag chairs were available ( 3 are provided) to accommodate everyone would have been nice. The kitchen area was large and stocked with the basic utensils, glasses, bowls, pots, pans, and a stock pot. We used that a lot to cook out lobsters :). The dishwasher detergent door flap was still broke so we couldn’t use it ( that wasn’t a big deal). The screened in porch was nice. We all enjoyed sitting out there in the evenings. The windows were still not fixed completely. The downstairs bedroom had no screen in one window so you couldn’t open it to get a breeze and the blinds in there were paper and could be replaced with metal ones instead. The driveway was a bit hard to find. If there was some kind of markings or something at the end of the driveway to make it easier to see would be helpful. The grill grate is in really rough shape and should be replaced and one of the burners wouldn’t light. The front door doesn’t fit inside the frame and slammed open in the wind. The furniture was good. We had plenty of seating space for everyone to find a spot to settle in at night. The beds were comfortable. The showers had good water pressure. Someone upstairs could shower while someone downstairs was showering and it kept the pressure which was nice. A better view of the water from the house would be nice, and a wider pathway to the beach would also be nice. The stairs to the beach were not done and were leaning against the bank not secured to anything. They were sturdy to climb on. You had to twist and swing your body around to get onto the steps but that didn’t stop us from making the journey down to the beach every day. I would recommend you to go to the house first - make a list of things you will need for your stay ( condiments, spices, coffee, paper plates, laundry detergent) these things are not stocked. We did leave our s/p, tin foil, coffee, baggies there for future guests. Why throw away if someone can use. Then go shopping. With the few minor issues mentioned it did not impact our stay here. We all had a good time and enjoyed our time here. We would stay again. Thank you!!

Good location but should be cleaner.
The setting and location were great for attending a wedding in Bar Harbor and exploring Acadia. The private beach was a peaceful, lovely place to sit, relax and take in the view. The beds were comfortable and linens appeared clean. Vacasa says they have a Premium Clean Program. They seem to have missed this rental. There were dried food smudges and crumbs on the counters, the tables, in the kitchen drawers with the utensils etc., in the sink, in the refrigerator, in the toaster oven, in the microwave and on the stove and floors. The dishwasher was full of “clean” dishes when we arrived, which was fine, but some of the dishes came out of the dishwasher dirty. The bathrooms were in better shape but still required a wipe down for my comfort level after seeing the kitchen. For 6 nights we had one bath towel each which seems kind of skimpy. We could have used the washer and dryer but we were busy on vacation. The fire detector in the downstairs bedroom went off 2 times in the middle of the same night and we changed the batteries. When calling the local Vacasa number which was posted on the refrigerator, the next day, they said they had been experiencing the same thing with previous visitors and had changed the battery but would send someone to tend to it again. In conclusion it was a good place to stay but I’m glad we had some cleaning supplies with us.

Wonderful Spot!
The location just outside of the town of Bar Harbor was perfect. The house was a great size for two people—we each had a lot of space. The house was clean and well organized. A beautiful garden of flowers and lots of trees around for privacy. It was a quiet retreat close enough to all the excitement of the tourist destination, yet far enough away for a break from the crowds.

Great Stay in Maine
The house is beautiful, spacious, and super clean. My family enjoyed the beach access and had fun seeing what the tide would bring in each day. The only issue which was minor is that we were unable to access the screened-in porch(as it was locked from the inside with no keys provided and no note providing an explanation) which was a feature we were excited to use. I would recommend this property highly to anyone traveling to Bar Harbor.

Great Family Trip to Acadia!
Our family made a 1400+ mile drive from Nashville to stay 6-nights in the Bar Harbor to hike and experience Acadia National Park. Blaney's Bight helped make this a great family vacation to kick-off the summer. Between our twice daily trips to the sea with our youngest son, the 5-minute drives to the Acadia park entrance at Hull's Cove, and the short 10-minute trips to downtown Bar Harbor, the home had everything we needed to make this trip everything we could've hoped. We appreciate the home being so well stocked with supplies (paper products, dishes, towels, etc.) and the added privacy and space made it ideal for our family.
