"I made a last minute booking because I was in the area later than expected. Upon arrival to the hotel they refused to let me stay because they were having a problem with the water and weren't accepting guests at the time. However, they processed my payment and confirmed my booking. The person in the hotel at my time of arrival was a security guard (there was no one available at the front desk) So I went ahead and requested a refund through Orbitz since that's where I booked it. Orbitz states that the person in charge for the refund in the hotel does not speak English, therefore I have been denied of a refund. I am very upset and consider this a scam since the hotel took my money, cancelled on me and Orbitz is not able to cancel a transaction that is still pending bank wise. "

"Our family of 12 stayed at the Villa for 5 days. We’ve traveled abroad every year for many years, and we’ve had multiple family vacations. This was indeed the most amazing and wonderful family vacation we’ve ever had. The overall setting of Castillo del Mar is spectacular! The view of the ocean is inspiring, with the sound of the waves lulling us into a sense of utter relaxation. The pool is one of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen. The bedrooms can best be described as luxurious. Each of the multiple areas at which we enjoyed our meals was more beautiful than the other. We ate poolside, as well as on a balcony overlooking the pool and the ocean. Peggy, the property manager, was superb. She took care of everything—seemingly effortlessly, and always with a smile. Peggy also arranged each night for us to have a glorious full moon looking down on us, lighting a path across the ocean. It was inspirational! Diali, the concierge, was also excellent--always pleasant and always able to accommodate our needs. The meals were carefully prepared and flavorful. We can’t emphasize too much how wonderful Peggy and her staff were, making this one of the most wonderful family vacations we’ve ever had. We’re hoping to return with our family next year.
