The Space:
Avondale Heights is a captivating 5-acre property in Wimmera-Banyena, untouched for 40 years. As we are a young family working away, you are most likely to be the only residents for miles.
Nearby, scenes from the famous 2020 film "The Dry", featuring Eric Bana, includes scenes filmed in Banyena—notably the opening scenes were filmed at Banyena Hall and the Church across the road. Just a short drive from our cozy farmhouse, you'll find these cinematic landmarks.
With our ongoing renovations, lush gardens, fruit orchards, friendly horses, and a miniature pony, there's always something exciting happening at our countryside retreat.
A cozy 113-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. The bathroom follows ecologically sustainable principles, including a waterless eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).
If you plan to spend your tiny house Victoria retreats here, we advise that you bring your basic necessities such as food and water during your stay with us. Thank you!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please advise that there will be some animal noise during your stay as we are animal lovers with two rescue horses and a miniature pony.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and its surrounding areas, except the land host's private residence.

Avondale Heights sits in the rustic countryside of Banyena. Where you can explore nearby restaurants such as Country Kitchen, and cafes like Parkview Bakery. On top of that, we are just an hour's drive from Bendigo, known for its gold-rush history, top-notch galleries, and modern cuisine.

- The Pinnacle Walk Grampians is a popular bushwalking trail and lookout destination in the region.
- Horsham is the closest town that offers delightful cafes, supermarkets, and a variety of dining options.
- Boroka Lookout is a must-see for visitors looking for panoramic views of Halls Gap and east of Grampians.
- MacKenzie Falls Lookout Walk is one of the largest waterfalls in Victoria that tourists and locals alike often visit.
- The Balconies features one of the most spectacular lookouts accessed by a short and scenic walk in the Grampians.
- Grampians National Park offers rugged mountain ranges, spectacular wildflower scenes, and several outdoor activities.
- Halls Gap Zoo is Victoria's largest regional zoo with over 160 species of native and exotic mammals, including reptiles and birds.

Getting Around:
By car: Quiet highways, local streets in townships spreading out to winding paths through the Grampians, which is just 1 hr, 27 mins drive off the property.
By public transport: Local buses run in the surrounding towns. Regional trains on the Ballarat line.
Other Things to Note:
- No BBQ grill
- Pets are not allowed on the property
- Please DONOT DRIVE ON THE GRASS
- No smoking allowed on the property
- Mobile reception is excellent for Telstra
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Firewood comes at an extra cost of $30 per stay
- We have a friendly dog on site to greet arriving guests
- Remember to close the gates when entering and leaving the property
- Don't forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers)
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge

- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
