Amazing location beautiful cabin slopeside
Beautiful cabin. Lots of room right on the slope. Great amenities .
Overall a nice stay. Accommodations were clean and pretty much had everything you’d need. A few items didn’t work but hoping that will be resolved for the next stay. Location is great for parkway, local towns, and less touristy spots.
We had a nice stay at Sugar Mountain 14B -
It was very nicely furnished, amenities as expected, clean and well- maintained. We visited after ski season for a short getaway.
Overall it was a nice place. We did have problems with the TV in the living room not working and when the jets were turned on in the tub they blew out black gunk. Other than that it was nice. We would stay there again.

Wonderful location for stay to see Fall colors
Comfy beds, We made good use of the nice kitchen and also the coffee maker was excellent. Morning coffee on the porch enjoying the view of the mountain ski slope and Fall colors. Nice TV screens for our evenings. Conveniently located near grocery store and Banner Elk, The one negative is the bathroom plumbing is *very* noisy. Overall though an excellent experience.

Easy slope access
Very cozy cabin. Access to and from the slopes is easy, literally 50 ft from the front door. Parking is right up against the cabin close to the front door. Every TV is a Roku with lots of content available to watch. It is the bottom floor unit with one above so you hear some noise from upstairs. Locking the front door is a little complicated so read the notes taped to the door on how to use it. Will probably rent this unit again next ski trip.

Christmas trip
Great location. House is out dated. The stove has issues. 2 burners only work. The bedding was not clean and the shower was dirty. Only one towel was offered. The pots and pans very dirty. No ac. We had a great time with all the activities. Very limited parking.

Great location, but unit has a musty odor and floors were filthy
The location was wonderful and could not be much better. Sadly the unit smells old and we could not overlook it. We went to the grocery store to buy odor neutralizer and it was tolerable for 2 days. Kitchen is not properly stocked with tools, missing measuring spoons and cups. There is no hair dryer in the unit. Very odd master bathroom layout. The toilet is in the bedroom with a small short wall dividing it. You can hear and smell everything. Had to lock the bedroom door to keep anyone from walking in on you using the toilet. Will not be staying at this unit again.
The house is cozy, clean and did not have the musty smell as some others stated. It is steps to the slopes, right where Big Birch turns into lower flying mile so our beginner snow boarders and skiers where able to come and go from the house. On the way back to the house they were able to cross over from the little grey lift/green slopes.
We had an issue with our bed and Vacasa sent someone out within hours to fix it.
The big issue for us and the only reason I gave 3 stars was that the main bedroom's bathroom was literally IN the bedroom, toilet, shower, sink and bedroom all part of ONE room. It is not very evident in the photos, click on the virtual tour and you will see it, which I didn't do when I booked. You will also see exposed capped wires to the left of the master bed that could be a problem if you have littles.
Unfortunately that bedroom/bathroom set up will be keeping us from booking here every year.
This cabin is lovely, situated right on the slopes for easy walks and lovely views. It easily accommodated our family of 5, bathrooms were quite nice with plenty of linens. Kitchen was well-outfitted with one significant drawback--only the oven and one burner work on the stove, which makes cooking for a family quite challenging, particularly with trying to avoid eating out during the current pandemic. If this were fixed, it would be 5 stars. We appreciated the books, games, and puzzles provided, but could not get the tvs to work. Perhaps instructions for accessing the many listed options for those of us who aren't tech-savvy would be helpful? Overall, we were very pleased and recommended the location to friends (they have a smaller family and rented the upper unit in the hopes that its stove is fully-functioning). Check-in and check-out were pretty easy. We'd happily stay again if we knew the stove were fixed!
When we arrived on Monday the damp, musty odor was so strong it gave both my grandson and I a horrible headache! The dehumidifier was unplugged when we got there and when I realized it and plugged it in, it read 78% humidity inside the cabin. The carpet and living room furniture was filthy, We left to visit friends and when we returned that evening I tried to turn on the stove to make my grandson some cookies only to find that the stove and oven both did not work! I contacted the Vacasa customer service immediately and they said they would send a message to the manager. I called two more times the next morning only to get the same response which led to nothing! Long story short my friend who lives in Banner Elk had us stay with her after the first sleepless night! So my grandson and I stayed in the cabin a total of one night, we both took one shower and we’re not able to cook any of the food I bought or brought! Worst stay in a VRBO to date! Never renting from Vacassa again and am in the process of trying to get refunded!
We visited as a quick trip for a LMC event. The location was perfect for accessibility. We loved being able to sit and watch the ski slopes. Even though it was summer, it was still fun to watch the cyclists come down the mountain.
We appreciated the starter set of toiletries and cleaning supplies. We didn’t have to buy anything!
The reason for only 3 stars was the smell of mothballs. It was overpowering. We tried opening windows and spraying air freshener but it was too strong.

Great ski in ski out location
We loved everything about this place. Clean...great view of the slopes...easy slope access. It was a very comfortable and relaxing place for a little fun and relaxation
This space was perfect for me and my husband, and my daughter, her husband and their 1 year old. We packed light and drove one vehicle. Glad we did. Definitely only room for one vehicle, just like the website says. No disappointments here.
Loved the circle home and the bottom floor was a perfect size for a small family however, the musty wet smell was not good. This property had lots of box fans to help circulate the air but if we had known our sock feet would’ve remained damp the whole time, we would’ve chosen a different property. Owners should invest in a dehumidifier.
Second bedroom was described as twins beds, and it was a double bed. No DVD player as described. The front door lock could not consistently lock the house from the inside, even after visits from two maintenance people. It would be a fine property if theses concerns are addressed.

We really enjoyed this unit. It’s compact, but all you need for a weekend on the slopes with the fam. This house helped make a lot of smiles happen this weekend... tons of snow didn’t hurt either. Thanks for having us!!
The unit is the bottom level of 2 and it has a great view of Sugar Mountain. It was clear that it needs updating or at least a very good cleaning - floors had not been cleaned, furniture was grungy and worn.
I will not be returning.

Beautiful location
We loved our stay but it was a little stuffy. There is no AC to move the air around. We bought a fan to help with that.
