"First of all, the lodge is exactly as portrayed in the pictures. We absolutely loved our 8 day stay in in this remote and quiet countryside. Lough Carra was beautiful, and we had sheep out front and dairy cows in the back. Beautifully landscaped as well. The caretakers, Jim and Mary were exceptional. We chose this place because we waned private and and countryside. We got it. It was the perfect base for our wanderings in Co. Mayo, Co. Galway and Connemara. My only sugesstion is for clearer driving directions. We would not have found it if not for Padrick, who escorted us there. The house was also stocked with essentials, and Mary baked us a welcome pie. There are two grocery stores in Ballinrobe for those who wish to prepare their own meals. We would definitely stay here again."
