Welcome to Shell Cottage on Bald Head Island!

Shell Cottage at Cape Fear Station invites you to Bald Head Island! BHI is a unique and peaceful island accessible by a 20 minute passenger ferry or private yacht. The island has golf carts and biking as the mode of transportation. Shell Cottage is within walking/biking distance to East Beach—one of the most favored beaches on the island—Turtle Conservancy, and Mike's Bites. Shoals Club is located conveniently close with a temporary membership available with a daily/weekly pass for an additional fee. The Maritime Market (grocery) is located 8 minutes by golf cart from the house with shopping and spa available. The Marina is located 12 minutes from the house with restaurants and many activities available.

Long term rentals welcome. 1 month to 3 months available. Discounts applied.

A charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with a newly added bathroom and 2nd bedroom to make your family visit more comfortable. The house has a fully equipped galley kitchen, two flat screen TV's with cable, wifi/reliable internet, beach/bath towels, and bed linens. The house is equipped with a wealth of amenities including beach chairs, boogie boards, pop up tents, beach toys, youth sports equipment, movies, books, and games.

The cottage has one 4 person golf cart provided for guest use. 4 adult bicycles and 2 kid bicycles are available for renter use (conditions vary due to beach climate).

Complimentary starter supplies of cleaning products, paper towels and bath tissue. House is professionally cleaned between each guest.

Early check in and late check out available depending on schedule. Please check with owner regarding availability of check in/out schedule. Sleeps up to 4 people. Rental insurance is required in lieu of a security deposit.

Great cottage in prime location close to beach and Shoals Club! Master bedroom is lovely and basement guest room would be great for little kids or my big teenager loved having his own little hideaway.

Perfect Island Retreat
Shell Cottage is a most-perfect retreat on BHI! The location is unbeatable (5-minute walk to the beach) and the house itself is lovely and comfortable. The golf carts and other amenities made our vacation a top-notch experience. Also, the hosts were very responsive and have put much thought and care into making their guests feel welcome. We would love to come back to BHI and would definitely stay at Shell Cottage again.

We loved this place ❤️ it was everything we needed . The one thing we would have liked to have had was an insta-pot and the golf cart needed a new cover but over all it was an awesome place ...we would definitely stay here again!

We absolutely loved staying here! I will be booking for the fam again soon. It was clean, convenient and so comfy! Close to everything, great area for running, walking , easy to get to the beach and definitely get passes to the shoals club. Will be returning very soon!

Winter’s Rest
This is our second time at Shell Cottage and it’s perfect for small families like ours (2 adults, 2 teens). Location is convenient for sunrise and sunset watches and to the shoals. Daily bike rides and beach walks were perfect for unwinding 2023 and gearing up for 2024. Cozy cottage with everything you need.

Great stay!
Loved this property and the location so close to East Beach. Truly the best side of the island! Perfect for a couple or family of 4. Well stocked beach toys and chairs. The weather was terrible but we still had a fantastic time riding around in the golf cart, playing cards and watching all the apps on the tv.
