Host & Stay | Jasmine Cottage

Summary:
Jasmine cottage is a cosy stone-built terraced cottage in the pretty village of Monyash in the heart of the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire and sleeps 5 people. The cottage retains its traditional feel, while having been updated with contemporary features and décor.

The Space:
A warm welcome awaits at Jasmine Cottage. Head into the living room which has retained its original stone fireplace, now home to a wood burning stove which is ideal should the weather turn cooler. The kitchen/diner leads into an enclosed garden with a lawn and gravelled outdoor seating area, looking onto the farm fields behind.
The cottage sleeps 5 people in 3 bedrooms, two double bedrooms and a single room, two of which have uninterrupted views onto the fields behind.
Please note that the fields often contain horses, sheep or cows and are separated only by a drystone wall, a track and another drystone wall - so you can enjoy the nature and animals on your doorstep, quite literally!

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

The Neighborhood:
Jasmine Cottage is ideally located for outdoor enthusiasts, offering fantastic walks directly from the door, and is just a short distance from popular attractions like Bakewell and Chatsworth House. The cottage is situated in Monyash, an attractive rural village surrounded by scenic fields and a network of walking trails. The local pub is only a few minutes’ walk away and serves traditional pub food, with the added bonus of a pool room and a garden/play area. For a light bite or a takeaway, the Old Smithy Café in the village is perfect, offering breakfasts, sandwiches, and homemade cakes.
Monyash is well-positioned between the bustling market town of Bakewell and Buxton. Bakewell is a short 5 miles from the property, and is known for its charming variety of shops, restaurants, and historic landmarks such as the Bakewell Bridge, the Old House, and the Bakewell Visitor Centre. The historic spa town of Buxton is located 8 miles from Jasmine cottage. Known for its Georgian and Victorian heritage, including the iconic Buxton Opera House and picturesque gardens, Buxton is most definitely worth a visit.

Getting Around:
Public transport in Monyash is somewhat limited, as it is a small, rural village in the Peak District. However, there are still a few options for getting around and connecting to nearby towns and attractions. Route 173 serves from Bakewell to Buxton and is a key route for local travel, though the frequency of buses can be limited, especially in the evenings and on weekends. The service is generally more frequent on weekdays, making it a good option for getting to Bakewell to explore the market town, shops, or even visit Chatsworth House.
The closest train stations are located at both Bakewell and Buxton. From the train station at Bakewell you can get to towns such as Matlock and Chesterfield, whereas Buxton train station will give you links further afield to cities such as Manchester and Sheffield.
