Lovely stay in this cottage out of a fairy tale
We loved staying in this historic cottage. Gorgeous views from every window, especially the third floor. Instructions were clear and thorough. Kitchen was well-equipped. We stayed in the third-floor bedroom, which was large and comfortable. Second floor bedroom also large. Three floors of winding steps would be tricky for anyone with mobility issues, but we knew this ahead of time. Fireplace was cozy after day of hiking. Did not need a car. Five-minute walk to town. The walk to cottage was up a steep hill but we knew this ahead of time. I would love to stay here again!

Nice Cottage in the middle of Bakewell
Great location close to the centre , fully furnished and super clean, the only thing it has stairs inside the house might not be suitable for someone with mobility challenges, but we were ok with it and it was mentioned with the description of the cottage. The owner is friendly and available on the phone, we had lovely time , definitely recommend !

Cosy terraced house in a central Bakewell location perfect for a small family
We had a lovely stay in Catcliffe cottage for half term with our two children. With a dedicated parking spot, and 5 minute walk down the hill into Bakewell, it was the perfect location with so much to do on the doorstep. The property was clean and cosy, and having a bathroom for each of the two bedrooms and basement utility area was a plus. Being spread across 4 floors with quite steep stairs, may not suit all, but was perfect for our family. The views from the top floor bedroom each morning were stunning. All in all, a well equipped, clean, home from home cottage and a fantastic base to explore the Peaks. We hope to return one day.

Excellent Property with great communication
The property is in an excellent location within 5 mins of Bakewell town centre. It was very clean, warm and welcoming. The owner made contact very early to ensure we knew everything required to enjoy the property. Private parking was useful and the wood burner was very handy on the chilly nights. We made use of the local shops and restaurants (who will deliver), the Indian was particularly nice. I would highly recommend to a small family or couple look for a hub in the Peaks. Would visit again. Thanks 🙏

Perfect
Just spent a week at Christmas in this cottage. As there were 3 adults it was ideal for us as it has 2 bathrooms. Well equipped everything you need for a great stay. Perfect location and peaceful, and fabulous views from the kitchen and upstairs bedroom. Great communication with Ricard. Bakewell only 5 minutes walk and has everything you need Co-OP, Spar, 2 butchers fish and chips, we used both the Chinese which delivered and the food was lovely. We also ate at the Indian, great service some different dishes to your usual Indian with good service and very reasonable priced. Good selection of pubs. Chatsworth house only 6 mins drive or you can catch the bus there. Throughly enjoyed our stay and have rebooked for next Christmas

Clean comfortable cottage in a great location with lovely views
We enjoyed our stay in Longstone Cottage. We found the cottage clean & comfortable & were lucky enough to be able to eat outside most evenings. Perfectly situated to explore Bakewell and the surrounding Derbyshire villages & attractions. The walk into Bakewell is slightly steep but we mastered this after a few trips & the path is well lit once darkness falls. We were very happy that we were based in Bakewell that offered much more than other places we visited. A great base to visit close by Haddon Hall, Chatsworth, Eyam & many other places .

Characterful cottage in Bakewell
My friend and I spent a very pleasant week in Bakewell in this characterful and cosy cottage. Although it's a mid terrace property it was very quiet and peaceful. The cottage is conveniently situated near Bakewell town centre and also near Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall which we really enjoyed visiting.

Great little cottage in a great location
The cottage is very well located for a short walk into Bakewell town centre, but is uphill on the way back. The views from the cottage are sensational, especially from the master bedroom on the top floor. The cottage is very clean and well appointed with all the facilities you would desire. It is extremely useful to have a reserved parking space in a small town such as this. Finally the owner is extremely friendly and helpful, always responding very quickly. Will definitely return.

A well equipped cottage conversion with dedicated parking space. Walking distance of town centre.
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage which is well equipped. In a tourist centre, it was good to have an allocated off-road parking space. The cottage is in a quiet location within walking distance of the town centre ( a bit steep walking back!). It made a good base for exploring the area. We visited Bakewell, Buxton and Derby. We also walked the Monsal Trail including viaduct and tunnels. We visited Speedwell Cavern, Peak Cavern and Peveril Castle. Bolsover Castle also made a very interesting contrast. With a longer trip we could have also included Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall. There are a lot of fish and chip restaurants and we found Charles at Matlock Bath excellent.

It was a very nice property parking etc.had all that we needed .
All was positive about the cottage, except remain double bed, we both slept really badly in it all week. the bed frame and the mattress could play a tune, it was like sleeping in a bouncy castle, one moved the other woke up. think the springs have died. please oil the bed frame to stop it squeaking and invest in a decent mattress. apart from that we had a lovely stay. thank you.

A perfect cottage in a perfect location
We had a great few days over our October half term. Knowing that the weather can be unpredictable, we wanted somewhere that was well-placed for walks on good days but also had the potential for pottering around shops on not-so-good days. This cottage is perfect for that. We were able to leave the car in the designated parking space (always a bonus!) and take any number of walks (including a lovely round trip to Haddon Hall and back via Over Haddon) straight from the cottage door. Chatsworth is a short drive away, as is Matlock Bath. Of an evening (and on the rainy day!) we took the path into Bakewell itself for a potter (only a 5 minute walk, albeit longer on the way back after having eaten - it's quite steep!!). The cottage itself has great views across Bakewell and the Derbyshire countryside, is beautifully furnished and benefits from having 2 bathrooms. We felt at home! I'd wholeheartedly recommend it if you're looking for a stay in the heart of Derbyshire.

Fantastic location!!
Cottage was supplied with everything we could possibly need and the owner was exceptionally helpful when contacted. The cottage was walking distance from Bakewell and the village had everything you could want from shopping to eating. Also centrally located for visiting Chatsworth House. There was so much to do that we've decided we will definitely be back for a return visit!

Close to Chatsworth for RHS Show and to NT properties. No need to drive to Bakewell as footpath right by cottage takes 5 minutes! Eyam plague village close by well worth a visit, fascinating stain glass window in church depicting 1665-6 plague. NT house in village, beautiful gardens. Countryside unspoilt lovely scenery just turn left out of Yelland road. Fabulous cottage!

Wonderful traditional but modernised terraced cottage
Lovely view from Bedroom 2 on the top floor with ensuite. Bedroom 1 near family bathroom on first floor. Modernised tastefully. Own parking space. Easy few minute walk into Bakewell with its excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. Wonderful peaceful location with excellent patio area out front overlooking well-tended gardens and more distant trees. Owners Richard and Christine very helpful. Would go again.

Character cottage in great location
Although weather was against us (rain most days) we still enjoyed our stay, with visits to Chatsworth, Eyam, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall. The walk into Bakewell was a pleasure, which meant dining out was relaxing with no drink/driving worries. Cottage was very warm (first few days a bit chilly outside) and plenty of hot water. Richard (owner) was very helpful with a couple of minor problems re tuning in the TV and fixing the bathroom shower on/off control. Top bedroom is a delight - double windows means it had a good 'feel' and the views across open country are uplifting! Very little traffic noise and access to the car parking space is very easy. Good to have two sets of keys - many properties only provide one. We would like to return to this area again hopefully to do some more walking, and this cottage would be an ideal base.
