HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED THE STARS IN MONTANA?
We have been in the valley for almost 50 years, love the land, the people and the entire park in general! My parents had a place on the majestic St Mary lake where we grew up in the wild every weekend and 2 months every summer exploring all the hidden gems glacier park had to offer. We built our getaway on Duck lake in 2006 for the fishing, wildlife and the utter beauty of the Montana rocky mountains just for our 3 boys to have the same upbringing I had. Now as they are getting older and moving in their own directions our place seems to be empty more and more of the time. We are happy to open up our piece of paradise to explorers of all types to experience a piece of life in Montana's wilderness.
The property is fully chain linked fenced keeping you safe while watching the boundless wildlife with views from all directions. over 100ft beach with clean weed free water (swear its the best fishing area on the lake) a dock, 2 fire pits one on the beach one in the trees for the windy days. The loft cabin we are offering is brand new. It is super unique, rustic and modern in every way. We have an assortment of kayaks, canoes and all kinds of water sports and fishing gear, welcome for everyone to use. Our main cabin on the property is huge and will probably sleep 20. It isn't quite vrbo ready so we are looking forward to a summer 2023 opening. Your stay will be quiet as we will only be there on weekends and for cleaning.
Warning!! we are Canadian "A" (yup dogsleds and igloos) we live an hour away across the border. We just just added an inflatable air bed just to add a little more comfort for a larger group.

Great spot near GNP
So clean and more room than the pictures showed! We loved the lake and being close to the park. It has AC too which was nice, it was really hot when we were there. Kitchen had very nice equipment and we used the grill several times. Loved staying here!

Glacier Getaway - excellent property and delightful hosts!
Excellent property - loft, access to Duck Lake with boats/kayaks/paddle board/fishing rods, etc. provided by hosts, beautiful views of Many Glacier area of Park…and delightful hosts!! - friendly, tips on where to view wildlife (during our stay we saw 3 bears and 3 moose!!), their love for the area showed in their conversations with us. Would definitely stay there if/when we return to Glacier.

Perfect stay
Abby and Anna were excellent hosts at the ducklake loft. Checkin was smooth, the place was clean and even better than the pictures. We fished, caught and ate some rainbow trout. Abby gave us knowledge of the area and was great to talk to. Recommend 10/10!

Abby and Anna’s place was just awesome! Very light and airy and super clean. Both kitchen and bathroom were very well stocked. Abby and Anna are so friendly and accommodating. My boyfriend was able to catch rainbow trout in Duck Lake. Great place! We would definitely stay again.

Nice Loft and Secluded Location with Views
Beautiful space, everything is new, a lot of extra items were supplied. Large deck with nice views of the lake, surrounding hillsides and the mountains of GNP. Firepits and lake frontage was great. Short drive to GNP Many Glacier and Saint Mary entrances. Abby and Anna did everything they could to make our 8 day stay outstanding.

Duck Retreat
We had a fabulous time staying at Abby and Anna’s Duck Lake Loft. Their hospitality and generosity exceeded our expectations. It is a great retreat after spending long days at Glacier National Park. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular and viewing the night sky was magnificent. Glacier is a magical place and Abby and Anna made our stay incredible. Thank you.

Abby and Anna share a beautiful loft with all of the amenities! Arriving to a impeccably clean ‘home away from home’ place to stay with every detail thought of was the perfect way to end our trip to GNP. We kayaked, fished, used the trolling boat and enjoyed a wonderful few days. I cannot wait to plan a return trip! The loft was close to Babb as well as the entrances to Many Glacier and St. Mary. I highly recommend On The Shores!

Amazing!
We LOVED staying here! Anna and Abby were the most amazing hosts! We enjoyed using the paddleboards and kayaks. We caught some trout and even saw a bear. Anna was kind enough to bring over some baked bread for us. They are the sweetest people and the property is just perfect. Everything was immaculately clean. Our family of 4 had a super fun time here. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful loft on Duck Lake
This was the perfect property for our vacation to Glacier National Park. It was close to the east side of the park but far enough away to be peaceful. The loft was beautiful and it felt like staying in a log cabin but with all of the amenities. There were so many little touches to make our stay amazing. We also loved meeting one of the owners. Abby is super nice and we loved talking with him. I'd definitely stay again and suggest it to my friends and family. It was the perfect size for the three of us.

Amazing vacation
The loft is everything that you would want for a home in paradise. But what makes it extra special are the hosts Abby and Anna who would do everything possible to make you feel comfortable. They went over and above what was required to make sure we had a wonderful vacation. The home has everything and more as mentioned in the listing. It's the perfect location for the east side of the park and in case you need to snag a parking space at Logan pass.

The property was absolutely amazing. Made for a perfect spot to recuperate after hiking. Beautiful views of the mountains and duck lake every evening, topped off with the amazing twinkling stars at night. We even got the pleasure of watching a meteor shower from the front porch! And as I’m sure every review will recount Abby and Anna were incredible host! Going above and beyond for us and even for other members of my family during our stay on duck lake. East Glacier Paradise
Abby and Anna’s loft by Duck Lake was a perfect home base for our family to explore the east side of Glacier. They have everything you need for a comfortable stay including quality cookware, state of the art appliances and well stocked kitchen and bathroom. They allow guests use of various watercraft for fun & fishing on the lake. Doesn’t get much better than fresh caught trout! Abby and Anna went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

What a place
The loft was a perfect place to stay for our visit to Glacier National Park. It had all the amenities one could need and then some. Abby and Anna very beyond accommodating. They messaged us a few times and even stopped in with cake for us since they came to the main house for the weekend. My son really enjoyed the paddle board and couldn’t wait to come back from the park every night to get out on it. We will stay here again when we return!

The stay at this cosy cabin was one of the main highlights. It had a very rustic feel yet all the conveniences ,well kept and upgrades at the facility. The owner Abby was very welcoming and made sure the place was stocked with the necessary pantry and hygiene necessities. The place was spic and span. Everything you can hope for
Not enough good things could be said about Abby and Anna. They were such welcoming hosts and went so far to not only share their home, their extra equipment for fishing and boating, but cooked dinner and shared with us, after a long day of hiking. Brisket, au jus, bread, and brownies! You absolutely cannot beat the view out on Duck Lake, looking back towards the mountains of Glacier Park. Thank you Abby and Anna for your beautiful hospitality!

Such a cute place, and extremely clean. The bed was super comfortable. Shower was great, and loved having the little kitchen. The road to get here is gravel, with some decent potholes, so just be aware. We had an SUV and had no problems. Abby is super friendly and location is beautiful. One note-if you’re traveling with a third person like we were, the bed situation for them isn’t amazing. There was an inflatable mattress which was too soft, and the couch that folded down has a really hard centerpiece that forces you on one narrow side or the other. A regular futon would work perfectly. But that was our only (very minor) issue. Otherwise for 2 people, it’s perfect. We would definitely go back!

Decked Out Loft
I new the space was going to be a bit smaller with it being a loft but the hosts have gone above and beyond in that space and it feels huge. There were so many gadgets, treats, and activities that you barely ever get at VRBOs or other rental properties. On top of that, the hosts were very good at communicating about directions, fishing, and making us feel right at home. Thank y’all for the wonderful time. We hope we can come back again.

Wonderful property and even better owners
Abby's and Anna's property is top notch in every aspect: Super clean, well constructed, tastefully decorated with attention to detail and personal touches, and stocked with everything we could possibly need. Abby and his wife, Anna, are very outgoing and friendly, and we enjoyed our many conversations with them. We will for sure stay with them again if we ever revisit GNP. Our kids wished we stayed longer; we felt the same way. There are so many things to do in GNP and our schedule was too packed that we didn't get to fully enjoy and appreciate the beautiful lake.
