"We arrived at 8.30 pm. We contacted the hotel before we arrived as were worried that we might miss the 8pm check in time and our email was promptly answered and we were reassured that there was provision for this. We had quite a long walk uphill to the hotel which is well positioned just below the medieval town but if you arrived before 6pm there is a bus service up to the public car park near the hotel. We had a two night stay and our room was very traditional, small but comfortable with a decent bathroom. The bed was comfortable and we had a lovely view out of the window. We hadn't booked breakfast but were able to take it for the two mornings and just pay at reception on checkout. There was a good set of choices for the breakfast and helpful staff. There was a nice balcony to eat breakfast on but unfortunately it wasn't quite warm enough for us on the days we were there. We could also have eaten other meals at the adjacent hotel restaurant. As already stated the hotel is very well appointed to easily walk up into the medieval village and there are some lovely walks around. The walk down to the station and cheese making experience attraction is quite easy with good views to the surrounding countryside. Entry was free with our Swiss pass and we found it very interesting. There area also busses from the station into the nearby town of Bulle."

"I feel that this hotel is a great value for Gstaad. The free spa, with a sauna and a steam room, is spacious, clean, and well-functioning. The rooms are the same. Breakfast is good, with omelets and other items available for order at no charge. The free bikes are modern and well-maintained. They will pick you up from the train station upon request. The staff are competent and friendly. The location is good - a short walk from the center of town. I'll continue to stay here."

"This is a great, clean, well priced hotel near the train, shops, and the city of Gruyeres. The staff are very kind and accommodating, even letting us check in early and providing discounts to local attractions! Would recommend!"

"Even though I don’t think it was intentional our check-in was a bit off putting. The air conditioning or fan didn’t work, quite stuffy so we had to leave windows open all night. Only one low pillow, found this uncomfortable even though bed comfortable. Carpets quite stained. Breakfast was 27CHF ($46 AUD each) felt this was very expensive. Pleased there was plenty of free parking. Easy walk into town centre."
