Aviemore is situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and at the head of the Speyside Way, and has a very good range of places to eat and drink on the doorstep. The whole area boasts a super range of shops, restaurants and bars along with a very wide range of outdoor activities, including skiing, snowboarding, mountain and quad biking, climbing, hill walking, zip lining, zorbing and a variety of watersports on nearby Loch Insh, Loch Morlich and the River Spey.

Visit the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, the Highland Wildlife Park at nearby Kingussie or the Landmark Forest Adventure Park, which is just 5 miles away in Carrbridge and a fun day out for all ages. For golfers, there is the Spey Valley Golf Course and the Dalfaber Leisure Resort in Aviemore has a wonderful array of leisure activities.

Glen Apartment is ideally located in Aviemore - just a short walk away from a small retail park, and
Glen Apartment is ideally located in Aviemore - just a short walk away from a small retail park, and within easy walking distance to the centre of the town with excellent shops and restaurants. It is also ideally suited for exploring the Inverness/Moray areas. The apartment was larger than we expected, and was well equipped and comfortable, however it's a bit tired in places - scuff marks on the floors, marks on the kitchen worktops, scruffy tiles in the en-suite shower - and the bedside lamps in 2 of the bedrooms were not working. There's a "living flame" effect fire on the lounge wall, which we couldn't get to work and there were no instructions for it - or any of the electrical appliances. Also, we have never before been requested to strip beds on our departure, and to "leave bedding and towels in a central location" - and we're regular users of holiday rentals across the country.

A very spacious and comfortable apartment.
A very spacious and comfortable apartment. Kitchen really well equipped, very modern cooker, big fridge, washer dryer. Beds big and comfy. Good dog friendly pub across the road and shops. Very few criticisms, wifi a bit slow, we did need to put water on for showers in the morning, had to work out how to work washer. But these are minor quibbles, overall we had a great week, we were very comfortable, and I'd definitely come back again.
