Want to experience what makes Austin weird and wonderful? Stay in this cozy and bright studio apartment in the wooded Cuernavaca neighborhood, less than a mile from the lake and an easy 20 minute drive to downtown Austin.
The neighborhood was established in the ‘60s and became a place for Austinites wanting an alternative lifestyle to set down roots. That legacy lives today in the type of home you find here: everything from log cabins to far out lake houses to communal living spaces. And in the type of people you tip your hat to in the street: friendly musicians, artists, and lake-addicted families.
Wake up and take a stroll through the peaceful neighborhood with lake views. Then drive up to Civil Goat Coffee where you can say "hi" to the resident pygmy goat, Butters.
During the day you have so many choices!
• Visit Commons Ford Ranch Metropolitan Park, a wonderful place to hike, picnic, or swim. (6 min drive)
• Check out the Hill Country Galleria for lunch and to do some shopping (12 min drive)
• Gorge yourself on BBQ from The County Line on the Hill (10 min drive)
• Or check out central Austin (20 min drive)
Once you've tired yourself out with all Austin has to offer, head back to your peaceful studio for a tranquil bath in the oversized tub, make a cup of tea in your mini kitchen, and sit out on the bench swing to watch the deer come out to graze and the people come out to sit on their front porches. Settle in for the night on a comfortable king-size bed. And if you’re party is a little larger, pull out the roomy sofa bed so everyone sleeps comfortably.
*Please note: This studio is attached to our main house, so you might hear us (and our teenage kids and dog), and we might hear you! There is space for no more than 2 cars. Kitchenette includes mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig, kettle, basic utensils and tableware. No kitchen sink, oven, or stove. The TV in the bedroom has an Apple TV, but there is no cable television.
