Huron #2 @ Kimar's Resort

Huron has a view of Lake Superior & is just a 30 second walk from the lake where you have access to free kayaks & canoes. Another lake is located across the street. You can see the sunrise & sunset over two lakes without even driving! We are 30 minutes from Pictured Rocks and Marquette, with the infamous black rocks! We also have charter fishing service on site where you can catch lake trout. This is a great place for sighting eagles, Northern lights, meteor showers, moonrises, & rock hunting.

You have a view of Lake Superior from the cabin, though it is not directly on the water. The property contains 300' of Lake Superior shoreline and you do have lake access.

Our resort amenities include a public pavilion, firepit, and shared deck overlooking the lake for Superior views.

I am located at the same property and am available anytime you need me. I like to allow guests to initiate how much interaction they would prefer with me as the host.

We have a 7 rental resort in a small bay of Lake Superior known as Shelter Bay. We also have a charter fishing service onsite.

This property is part of a resort; there are 7 rentals total onsite. We also have a charter fishing service at the same location with many boats on the property.
Please note that a link will be sent with your rental agreement. Important terms include:
1. We have a charter fishing business on the same property with many boats.
2. The maximum occupancy is firm. NO tents, campers, or motorhomes are permitted. No exceptions are made to this policy.
3. Canoes and kayaks are included in the rental and are shared amongst all guests. They may only be used when waters are calm.
4. We provide a starter set of the following: Toilet paper, Garbage bags, Dish soap, Sponge ,Paper towel, coffee filters, towels (limited)
5. Guests provide the following: Body Wash, Shampoo/Conditioner, Tissues, Spices, Coffee, Creamer
6. We do NOT have laundry facilities on site.
7. The cabin will be unlocked and the key will be inside at 3 PM. Early check-in is available upon request. No late checkouts are permitted.

A relaxing cabin
We enjoyed our stay in the cabin and loved the easy access to not only Lake Superior but Deer Lake, Munising and Marquette. This is a great location to stay and enjoy the tranquility but have restaurants and many things to do within a 30 minute drive.

Beautiful setting.
The cabin was wonderful and the setting was beautiful. We enjoyed the sunrise every morning at a picnic table overlooking Lake Superior. The kayaks were a great addition and the bay was calm when we visited. Lovely family owned cabins.

Very clean cabin and we had everything that was needed for our stay. A couple of the beds was a little bit hard but that was the the only thing bad about our stay. We would all rent the cabins again.

Wonderful Time!!!
We had an amazing time, I would most defiantly go back there. Next time I would like to book one of there fishing charters! Sarah was wonderful to deal with. Very peaceful, LOVE rock hunting near by, on the shore line.

Sweet friendly spot for a UP getaway!
We were looking for a great place to be self-sufficient as we spent a few days hiking, kayaking and exploring the area. Kimar's Resort was exactly what we needed. It was lovely being right on Lake Superior, as well as walking over to Deer Lake. We had great communication with the owners, and the one minor issue we had was resolved immediately. Really appreciated staying at this friendly spot!

A great place for a relaxing weekend
A great quiet place for a relaxing weekend just a few yards from the shore of Lake Superior. Sarah was very friendly and welcoming and was quick to respond to any of our questions via text. She also had good lrecommendations for hiking, visiting area waterfalls, restaurants, etc. Kimar’s Resort is conveniently situated almost exactly between Munising and Marquette, so it was a good “home base” for our excursions to both areas. Checking in and out was super easy. We enjoyed our stay!

Everything we were hoping for
We loved the unit and everything else that the property had to offer. I would definitely consider going back in the future. Good fit for families or smaller groups. It was quiet at night and beautiful during the day. We were able to view the sunrise in the bay just a few feet from our front door. There are large public beaches not too far away and plenty to do for a weekend away or week long adventure.

Loved this laidback gem on the water
Blend of new clean modern and rustic old fishing cabin, perfectly clean, beds were comfy. Slept really well here. We had a three bedroom cabin and were three adults. Very roomy, and decent little kitchen I cooked a pasta meal in. The best was being able to sit out on the common deck looking over the lake in the evening and then getting up and hopping in a canoe with my father in the morning and taking a nice paddle (canoes and kayaks at no charge). Beautiful quiet spot and the other cabin dwellers were all quiet and respectful.. who knows, maybe they were all out fishing.

Sarah was so hospitable - she thought of everything! Even offered to let us borrow their UV light so the kids could hunt for yooperlites. The lake across the street was perfect for swimming in June - much warmer than Lake Superior. Sarah offered great recommendations on things to do and restaurants. If we get the chance to go to the UP again we’ll be back!

Clean no frills fishing cabin.
The resort is exactly as advertised. A clean well maintained fishing camp. The cabin is well stocked and kept up. The TV and everything worked well. Deer lake is a quick 2 minute drive if you want to swim or be on the beach. The shore at the camp is rocky (as advertised) but the sunrise is amazing. I'm a VRBO regular and Sarah has great communication and is very honest. Great base camp to explore Munising area and Picture Rocks.

Don’t pass this one by.
One of my best vacation experiences so far. You can watch the sunrise over Lake superior from your window. Kayaks and canoes are available should you decide to brave the waters. Our cabin was beautiful. It had everything we needed to make our state complete. It was clean and it smelled amazingly good when we walked in. Add to it, the owner was kind enough to even let us check in early. I will be back.

Beautiful Lake Superior site
This is a really nice clean comfortable house that has 3 bedrooms . Brand new windows, nice fridge and good bathroom. We loved the Lake Superior views and the ability to dip our toes in. It was too cold to kayak but I would have gone if a bit warmer!! Owners are really friendly and responded to our question quickly. We may go back! Location between munising and Marquette so we explored both areas!! Great week!!

Sweet Lil honey hole 🌻
We only stayed one night as we passed through ,but loved every second spent there. It was so peaceful to listen to nature and the sweet sounds of water splashing on the rocks . I used the kayak and paddled on pure glass . The beach down from the resort was the perfect spot to hunt for Yopperlites. I searched for 2 hours and found 1 hidden gem. My son (6) was entertained by the small play area and loading dock. Owners were very kind and welcoming . We will definitely stay again if we find ourselves in the area .

Perfect spot for a longer stay
This listing came to us as we looked outside of Munising, which didn't have reasonable accommodations for 4 singles who wanted a little bit of room for themselves. This place fit the bill! It had ample sitting room for 4 of us and a large dining table for our shared meals. The decor was attractive, right down to the teal stoneware plates and bowls. The view of Lake Superior was great, and just a few miles west we found a perfect spot to watch the sunsets. We enjoyed the fire pit for some cooking (but weather and late outings limited our use of it). Sarah, the proprietor, was prompt to contact us by text a couple days ahead of our arrival and made it clear how to get to and enter our cabin. We made all of our inquiries by text because she was always on the move around the property. She was prompt with requests, such as checking the Wi-Fi when it had gone out at the cabin. Turns out it gets a bit wonky when storms pass through, but it was restored easily. One rainy day she even brought over a DVD player at our request - and a basket full of movies. (We didn't even know if they had a DVD player, but felt comfortable asking.) We liked the relaxed atmosphere and the location was within reach of places of interest. I would come here again.

Fantastic location
We loved our stay at Kimar’s Resort! Sarah was very friendly and welcoming. The location was great to easily get to Marquette and Munising. Loved being able to watch sunrise on Lake Superior and then sunset at the inland lake right across the street. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
