About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Hiawatha @ Kimar's Resort Lk SUP

A quaint, cozy cabin just a 30 second walk to Superior with free kayaks/canoes. Centrally located between Marquette and Munising (Pictured Rocks) on 2 lakes, you can easily enjoy the beauty of the U.P. on site or with a short drive. From the property you can paddle, rock hunt, watch eagles, Northern lights, meteor showers, and the sunrise and set over the water. We also have a charter fishing service on site to catch lake trout. The nearest restaurant, the Brownstone, is just 5 min away!

You do not have a direct view of the lake from the cabin, but the property contains 300' of Lake Superior shoreline.

Our resort amenities include a public pavilion, firepit, and shared deck overlooking the lake for Superior views.

I am located at the same property and am available anytime you need me. I like to allow guests to initiate how much interaction they would prefer with me as the host.

We have a 7 rental resort in a small bay of Lake Superior known as Shelter Bay. We also have a charter fishing service on site

This property is part of a resort; there are 7 rentals total onsite. We also have a charter fishing service at the same location with many boats on the property.

Perfect fall getaway!
Communication from the beginning was wonderful. Sarah had a list of places to visit along with restaurants to try. Made planning so much easier. The cabin was wonderful. A short walk to Lake Superior with wonderful views. You are a short drive to so many experiences. We will definitely stay here again!

Great Hospitality and History
This multi-generational property has a really cool backstory and history. The owner was responsive and the check-in/out process was easy. A good halfway location between Munising and Marquette, this felt like the full upper peninsula experience.

Great weekend away
We had a nice time checking out the beautiful UP. Close to pictured rocks where we spent lots of time. The bed was not the most comfortable, but not terrible. Nice location to explore the area. Really enjoyed dinner at The Blackrocks nearby. Definitely a hidden gem!

Just What We Needed
The cabin was great, just what we needed for our stay. The reason I gave it 4 stars, for the overall rating is; there were no towels supplied. We had to go buy some, not a big deal but I just wish we were informed that towels would not be supplied.

Beautiful location!
Had a great stay! Bring your own coffee. Rock hunting isn't possible on this location's shoreline. Very cutely decorated but very uncomfortable beds. This, however, may be because both my partner and I are heavy set. Was very happy with how clean the rental was. Sarah was there to warmly greet us! Thanks Kimar's!

Long Weekend Getaway
I was looking for a place to do a quiet long weekend getaway. I found Kimar's Resort and booked a cabin. Sarah was wonderful with communicating and letting us know what to expect. Check in was on our own, so giving an arrival time was not necessary. Sarah greeted us on and was very helpful with giving ideas as to what we were looking to do. The place was older, but very clean and had anything we needed. It reminded me of a cabin my grandparents had...very cozy and comfortable. This was very close to all places we wanted to hike and explore and spent a day just sitting on one of the wonderful beaches. Overall a very relaxing and fun long weekend.

Mosquitoes stayed outside.
Everything was cozy. I enjoyed the couch on the front porch. Mosquitoes were terrible, as expected, but once you got in the cottage they were gone. I don't know how they did that, but it was great.

Great Location
The Cabin is small but cozy, not a big view of the Lake from the Cabin, but with a short walk to the boathouse the lake is absolutely stunning. The property is located pretty much directly between Munising and Marquette, so you can do day trips to either very easily!

I liked the cabin it was close to the water. It was clean it does have a slight musty odor but most cabins do. There is a lake across from the property that is also beautiful.
