"I stayed two nights in Castleton in mid-November amid some early snow which made the village and the walks around the hills stunning. But the real treat came after a long day of hiking when I was able to return to a cozy pub to have a hot meal, a pint of ale and a nice read by a roaring fire. "Friendly staff, and food was OK. The property needs significant TLC. The terrifying stairs probably cant be fixed, but the decor could be improved, and the bedroom could be given some character."

"All good except TV in room 2. Husband needs subtitles to watch, hearing lose/ stroke. Couldn’t find anywhere in settings. I did ask for help and told someone would look at it. No one came back to me and it was just the same following day. "

"We loved the hotel as it was in a remote area, away from the hussle and bustle of city life- it was like stepping back in time. The views from the hotel are amazing Hotel was clean, the staff were welcoming and very accomadatinhg, and went out their way to help you. We will definateky be back, hopefully in the summer to explore more.
