On a busy 3 day weekend only 3 clerks at check in (waited over 17 minutes). My room was one half of a lock out unit. There is absolutely no privacy and I could hear every word spoken by the family in neighboring room including their toddler waking up screaming on a few occasions throughout the night and an angry profanity filled tirade. Unless you’re coming for the water park stay far away from this place. For an extra few $$ I could have stayed at Resorts across the street and actually gotten some sleep.

I’ve stayed here many times over the years. My stay this weekend was horrible the room had roaches. When I notified the front desk they said it was nothing they could do over the weekend. My family and I left a day early.

The hotel is very dated, very dirty, no assistance when asking for ice or services. When checking in and asking about how to purchase ticket to Island Water Park, you are given a scan box to purchase but then you still have to get a the back of the line to get a braclet to enter the park. Why? It doesn't make since for me to buy a ticket at check in and not receive the bracet to enter. Next, no one knew where a guest can get ice. I was told to check other floors or go to the other tower. I checked every floor in the New Orleans Tower and 3 floors of the other tower. None of the machines was making ice. Horrible service and no employee would assisit.

If you ever wondered what it was like living in Rome as it crumbled, stay at the Showboat. All around you see paint on walls, doors, elevators chipping. The elevator buttons in many instances do not light up. The hotel room literally across from my room had the bottom 1/3 of it bashed in, with a piece of plywood hastily nailed to it. Without explanation there was a small garbage can in the hallway right outside our door filled with blue, surgical hairnets (??). The room keys are plastic white cards that are completely blank, and feature zero branding, as was the case for paper card holder. Was there Hotel WiFi - who would know, there was no info anywhere on the card or in the room. One of the beds had loud, rickety springs - sounded like a 1960s motel. The bed linens were as rough as sandpaper, perhaps they mistakenly received the laundry from a local prison. All in all, a very sad state of affairs. Fortunately its very close to the Hard Rock, where we spent all of our time.

There was a incident to where some one was bleeding and there was cops all over the showboat and no one report to the guest if it was safe to go and play at the lucky snake aracade and raceway. I spend on a arcades that I couldn't use because I didn't want my safety to be at jeopardy. I asked the manager at lucky snakes the next day if I could be refunded because of the incident and he refused say “it a no refund policy” I asked even if I felt like my safety was at risk and no communication with me about why their was bleed in the hallway next to the elevator and lucky snake! He walk away and refuse to give a refund. Also the showboat has dogbraking all night because the owner are not taking outside on their walks. We had guest up all night drunk yelling screaming until 4am! When call down stair to report there refused to come up to the floor and address the concern! Worst weened ever! I want a refund for this horrible expeinces

Bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned. Pillow cases were dirty. Heat didn’t work in original room. Family got transferred to new room after maintenance told us the unit had no filter. New room heat also did not work.

The people working at the hotel were nice. And my son enjoyed the water park and arcade. Unfortunately, beyond that, this place is hurting. There was an extremely violent incident while we were staying there; our food options were limited to just one cafeteria-style place (they said all other on-site dining places were being renovated); the building, rooms, and common areas were all extremely worn down and just not clean. The prices were jacked up because we were in town for a really large futsal tournament. So most of the “nicer” hotels were just unaffordable, and this one worked out okay (save for the violent incident), but still pretty pricey for the really low-standard accommodations.

Showboat is perfect for families! The arcade kept the kids entertained for hours, and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. The room was comfortable, and the service was excellent. Can’t wait to come back!

Showboat Hotel exceeded my expectations! The rooms were spacious and clean, and the location is perfect—right on the boardwalk. The arcade was a fun bonus, and there was always something to do. Will definitely stay here again!
