A decent place to stay in Ocean City
Overall the attached twin house certainly met our needs. It was recently updated and was nice enough, but perhaps lacking some amenities for the price point. Following are some pros and cons.
The house was spacious with 5BR, 2.5BA, a living room, front porch and small rear deck area. I believe the house is advertised on VRBO as having 4 baths, but it actually has 2.5 baths.
The location was pretty good with one block walk to the boardwalk & beach via either 7th or 8th street.
Unfortunately, we experienced an issue at check-in because we had not received the electronic door code. Messages sent to the owner were not responded to. We were eventually able to speak with someone directly at VRBO who provided a different contact number for the owner. The owner apologized and said the issue must be with the VRBO app because he did respond to several messages. VRBO should seriously resolve the issue with their messaging system.
A few other nits that any prospective tenant should be aware of. The house was updated on the surface (newer appliances and fixtures, etc.) but some attention to detail was lacking. I did take photos of a few problem areas. Also, any prospective tenant should note that the house shares a common backyard area with the neighbor’s two dogs. One of the dogs was actually on our back deck looking into the kitchen one night. Lol! We like dogs so this was not a problem for us. The outdoor table and chairs were a bit worn and/or dirty. Also, there is an old outdoor shower but it’s wide open (e.g., no curtain and not enclosed) and the shower is located on the neighbors side of the property. Fortunately the neighbor is friendly.
Again, the house was decent with good location and met our needs. For the price point it would be nice if beach chairs, umbrellas, and/or bikes were provided for renters. Ocean City is a pretty cool town.
