"Lovely room, really comfortable bed, historic building with a magnificent breakfast room."

"Building itself is old and rather quirky. Room was small but very clean and adequate for stay. Food both in evening and breakfast was exceptional and there is a good choice of beers. Staff all very accommodating - my only gripe would be that listing should include directions to car park - hotel is on a one way system and the postcode takes you to front whereas car park is at rear. Bit of a mare, particularly arriving during rush hour."

"Fantastic location in woods opposite golf course. Very quiet. Large rooms, comfy albeit 2 single beds put together. Friendly staff. Great breakfast."

"Stayed one night as had business meeting nearby. Location is lovely on the golf course and all the staff were extremely friendly, as were the golfing types which meant it had a really nice vibe. Rooms were nice and spacious. Had a couple of drinks and a meal in the bar - the food is basic bar type fare but very nice and excellent value. My colleague had the vegan burger which she said was excellent. It's all very corporate and so the only thing I would say is it isnt ideal for a romantic type stay but it's not geared toward that. Overall a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend especially if you are thinking about hitting little white balls around a field with a stick or need somehwere close to the A1 for a stopover."

"Excellent, prompt professional staff. Room was tastefully decorated and spacious with comfortable bed and lovely toiletries. Delicious breakfast too with some unusual additions to stand out from the usual full english offering etc. Our 2nd visit and we hope to return again soon !!"
