The surrounding area is characterised by olive groves and wheat fields, ideal for your walks in the countryside. History buffs can explore the ancient ruins and the medieval castle of Assoro. Assoro is also a perfect starting point for excursions to Enna and Piazza Armerina, where you can visit the famous Roman Villa del Casale with its impressive mosaics. Mount Etna is also within easy reach for day trips.
