It is a wonderful property...we have stayed for several years and love it. It is wonderful for family and friends as each bedroom has their own private bathroom.
Also it is an easy walk to downtown.
A very unique home with many levels. Awesome views of the mountains!! Easy to walk to town/buses.

Perfection!
The house was perfect for our Thanksgiving holiday. The location is great, we walked everywhere! We especially enjoyed the natural sunlight that shines into the house. We will definitely stay here again!
Had a group of 8 stay at this property and it was perfect! The distance to town is perfect. We walked everywhere. The steam room is big and can fit 4-5 people comfortably and the hot tub was great. 5 stars!
Another fabulous stay in Aspen at Ellen’s house. Completely equipped, well appointed and perfect for a family get away. Completely walkable to town and Rio Grands Trail. Steps from the Roaring Fork.
The house is so interesting…kind of a blast from the past. Everything worked out so well for our family of 4 adult children. Ellen was accommodating and communicative. Location was convenient to town but very private.
My family and I love Ellen's house- best views in town, in an expansive eclectic setting- super convenient to downtown, Clarks, JBar, and mega shopping. Large parking space for 4 cars at premises. Amenities and provisioning are super. Lots of conversation, visiting and dining space- and huge decks on multi levels.
This is a very unique property, situated to take in the magnificent views Aspen has to offer - it's really quite incredible. Each bedroom has its own balcony, along with a balcony for the main living area. You have beautiful views of Aspen, as well as the Roaring Fork River, and the town of Aspen.
It is a wonderful property where we have stayed yearly. It has spacious bedrooms & bathrooms far enough from each other, so everyone has privacy. In addition there are stacks of wood and kindling so every night we could be cozy around the fireplace playing games & watching TV.
It is truly a special place that the owners share with us!
My wife and I decided to stay here with our kids and grandkids for a week of skiing. Everyone skied and enjoyed the ease of getting to all 4 mountains via the nearby Galena Bus route to the Ruby transit center. The house is within walking distance to the town center with great views of Ajax. The unique house design permitted the under 21’s their own private rooms while the adults could enjoy some quiet interludes. Walking the nearby trails showed off the magnificent homes in Aspen. Everyone left Aspen with great memories!

Great Value, Great Location!
This house's design is a little funky, but fun and interesting. Our family of 7 adults really enjoyed the house, especially the location's proximity to town, grocery, and trails. Everything was in good working order and clean . The large deck is really great during the day, something missing in a lot of homes.
The tennis court is rough and the house isn't actually on the Roaring Fork, but everything else was very nice, including Ellen, the owner. We would definitely stay there again.
655 Gibson could not have been better located for us. Also, the fenced in yard with hot tub was a big plus. The lower level master is the only bedroom we used, it is cozy but large and had a very nice bathroom. The kitchen and living space is nice, plenty of patios and a small fireplace inside which we enjoyed in the mornings. The upper bedrooms can get hot in summer but it was bearable overall. I can’t say enough about the location- really close to town but on a quiet street. House manager was helpful, too.

Aspen hillside home
This interesting four story home with great view of Aspen Mountain is only a 5 minute walk from downtown. The house is very well stocked with everything you could want in the kitchen, extra towels, two sets of washer and dryer, and firewood for the fireplace. I loved sitting at the window in the living room and watching far away skiers ski down the slopes. At dusk, the view through the glass wall by the stairway is awesome. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone visiting Aspen.

Felt right at home!
We were in town for a conference and decided to bring the whole family for an extended vacation. The location was perfect and views were spectacular. They have everything you need to make you feel right at home. This home is close to walking trails and close enough to town to walk in for shopping and dining. We brought our 3 year old and 8 month old. The stairs do have gaps in between but stairs can be dangerous for children period. The set up was perfect for our family. The owner was attentive and even mailed back a treasured stuffed animal we accidentally left at the home.

Beautiful Home with great location
My wife and I stayed in this wonderful home for almost two months in July and August. This is a very unique and fun home for all types of guests. The host Ellen, her property manager, Chonnie and the rest of the home caretakers were all so helpful and attentive. The time spent on the decks was delightful with decks off every room. We can't express enough how nice the location is, so close to everything. The home is right across the river from the Aspen Theatre. The home is in the core of Aspen, just 4 minutes from the Hotel Jerome. Also, Clark's grocery store is just 3 minutes away. We can only speak of this home and the hosts in superlatives.
Everything you need for a great ski vacation. Near two shuttle bus routes, one passes the house every 10 min. We walked to town half the time as it is not too far either. Hot tub and steam room are great after a day on the mountain.
The house has a lot of levels(4.5) so kids and adults can hang out separately if needed. Lots of stairs, you get a little extra exercise if you go back down for something you forgot.
Overall, it was a great house an we would recommend it. We had two families (4 adults, 3 kids) and were very comfortable.
This property is a totally unique home that feels as if it’s been built into the side of a mountain. (Yes, as a result there are many stairs - not for the mobility impaired!)
There are some small issues inherent to a big house that hasn’t been fully renovated - the primary bedroom bathroom door sticks and the tap is leaky, for example. But overall this house is pretty awesome. I especially appreciated the big ice maker in the kitchen (renovated and lovely) and the steam shower / sauna on the ground floor. The walk to town is about 15 mins and the sidewalks, as with everywhere in Aspen, can be icy but it’s close enough to be do-able without a car (we didn’t have one and that was fine).
The host was super communicative and helpful.
Would I stay here again with my friends? Absolutely!
Wonderful place to stay in the summer (we visited in July for 9 days). Great location - walk to John Denver Sanctuary, Clark's Market, the Rio Grande River and Trail and town. No need for a car unless you want to explore away from Aspen. The house was clean, comfortable and well supplied. We ate most dinners on the outside deck near the kitchen. We had no complaints. Great place to stay unless you have difficulty with stairs - there are lots of stairs. My wife and I are are in our 70s and the stairs were no problem for us - in fact we like the different levels in the house since they allow more privacy when in the bedrooms. However, someone who has difficulty with stairs might consider staying elsewhere. If you are not physically handicapped, this house is a wonderful place to stay!
Great property for rental with family. Location is ideal. Kitchen fully stocked with everything you might need. Easy walk into town and Rio Grande Trail. Highly recommend.
The property is a unique architectural gem built into the hillside over an old silver mine shaft and incorporates some of the mine shaft into the interior of the home. It sits on a small hill just above the roaring fork river enjoying magnificent views of Ajax Mountain and the river valley. It is only ten to fifteen minute walk into town, which allows one to avoid the challenge of finding a parking space in downtown Aspen. It was a pleasure coming home each day to such a beautiful home. However, all this does come with a lot of stairs as the house is built on four levels and the master bedroom is 2 1/2 flights below the entry. My wife and I (both in our seventies) found the multiple levels offered privacy (guests and/or family members on different floors), great views and good exercise, but be forewarned. Overall, both the house and Aspen are very special and we plan to return.
This is our 2nd year and it is a wonderful property. With so many levels it offers privacy for everyone and a middle level for everyone to eat and hang out. Plus the added feature of a real wood burning fireplace with wood supplied. Perfect!
I stayed with my family and another family for a week. The house was unique in its layout and architecture, and the location to downtown, the grocery/wine store, Hunter trailhead made it easy to walk everywhere. We especially enjoyed the outdoor patio, steam shower, and hot tub after morning hikes. The top floor bedroom gets very hot when temps reach high 80s. Overall, we were very happy to stay here!
This house is unique, beautiful and has everything you need for a group stay. The kitchen was loaded up with all the necessities (and more) for us to cook some great group meals. Short walk to all the restaurants/shopping. The steam room and hot tub were used a lot! The house has very cool architecture and the amount of windows allows for great views. The beds were very comfortable too.
The hosts were very easy to communicate with and we really appreciated them being flexible with leaving our suitcases in the house while we walked around the town before our flights home.
Thanks so much for a lovely stay - we will definitely be booking this house again in the future.
