"KOKO Hotel is conveniently located in a shopping and convention center, close to the castle and downtown areas. The room was very well equipped and large for Japanese standards. Staff very kind and helpful. I happily recommend the place."

"This is a very creative hotel with unique guest rooms but watch your head as the upper level is the sleeping place so the living area below has a low ceiling. Very interesting and creative but found it somewhat different to navigate at night as you need to go down the right stairs to the bathroom. The staff is excellent and very helpful and friendly. "Overall a very good stay for family travellers. Huge hot spring area, buffet and proximity to the national park for a reasonable premium. The immediate surrounding area is walkable. To reach Kirishima Jingu and trail heads inside NP you need a car. Bus routes run only 2-4 times a day. If you have to take a bus watch out for departure times."

Room is small but is well thought out. #1 is having under bed storage space - it's really disappointing when this isn't available in a small room, so I was happy to see it here. "This hotel is “The classy” hotel. Built a while ago, so it has old charm everywhere. Love the option that you can play music BGM that you can enjoy in your room. Everything is old but neatly well kept and very comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing with serving local food with great variety. "
