I booked this hotel because it seemed really unique and a cool place to stay. When I booked it weeks prior, their website said nothing about having considerable damage from the hurricane. When we checked in on 1-8-25, they had only opened a few days prior. The hotel restaurant was still closed as well as the basement floor which holds an art gallery by local artists. (Also part of the reason we wanted to stay there). When we got to our room, the door key pad didn’t work. They had to move us to a different room. Then, that rooms heat was stuck on high so they had to move us again. The third rooms television kept losing signal and we had to have IT come twice to fix it. So, overall it wasn’t what we expected, but we realize that hurricane caused severe damage and loss of income to several businesses in that area.
Plus side: the staff was really cool. Young people with a very cool vibe and extremely helpful when things did go wrong.
I think after they have fully recovered from the hurricane, we would definitely go back. This hotel is the most unique place I’ve ever stayed and it deserves a second chance.
