The original bell tower and a Celtic stone round window can best be appreciated from outside where there are extensive, unfenced natural grounds. Inside, the beautiful windows, double-height beamed ceiling and lovely light streaming in from the patio doors in the living/dining room make this a welcoming space to relax after a day out exploring.
The tiny village of Ardlui lies on the edge of the loch and takes approximately 10 minutes to walk to on a footpath alongside the main road. The village has a well-stocked shop, hotel, train station and the small ferry which transports passengers over the loch to join the West Highland Way. There is hill walking aplenty from the door step, with waterfalls, native woodland and wildlife to be seen. In contrast, there is designer shopping and the Sea Life Centre in Balloch, 45 minutes away. There is also golf at Luss, 30 minutes away, and for memorable days exploring, Oban, Fort William or Glasgow are within easy reach. There is a choice of eating places 2 miles north at Inverarnan. Shop 1½ miles, restaurant ½ mile, pub ¾ mile.
