"10 out of 10 there was nothing you could fault. The area is amazing with beautiful scenery. The hotel is stunning. Upon arrival the staff were warm and friendly and this continued through the whole weekend. The room was huge with a massive bed. Clean and a great welcome tray with drinks and biscuits water and more. The shower was amazing overhead shower and the cleanliness perfect. The food is tasty and plentiful piping hot and delicious. "Excellent stay in midst of stunning countryside and so many places to visit. Need a car to get out and about. Hotel first class in every way. Cook to order breakfasts but staff very flexible in accommodating options which was perfect. "

"Lovely hotel/lodgings. Beautiful bathroom! Nice and warm room. Cosy fire at the bar which was nice and cosy . Tastefully decorated. The food looked gorgeous as it was taken past us going to the restaurant, and we will eat here next time. ***Big shout out to Phoebe, our breakfast waitress. "Lovely people and delicious food. Bar was very friendly. Spacious room (#5) and big and comfortable bed. No internet in bedroom (think it was faulty as it showed a signal) but OK in bar. Water pressure in room #5 very poor but clean a pleasant bathroom. No mobile service but that is obviously not The Maypole’s fault!"

"With so much to do and see in the Yorkshire dales, the Plough Inn is the perfect location. Very friendly and helpful staff escorting us to the room and making sure we were comfortable. Friendly bar staff providing a good selection of wines, beers and spirits at sensible prices. The restaurant menu is perfect. Simple and straightforward choice and the food is the same, just perfect."

"Really enjoyed our stay. Only negative was that the dinner menu was the same each night. The staff were very friendly and polite. A very dog friendly hotel too - you had the option to have meals in a nice room with your dog - this isn’t the case in some dog friendly hotels. Would stay again."

"the room was not warm enough and although mentioned to the staff, it was some time before the heating was sufficient. The tea maker was in a cupboard on the floor. This is the first time I have encountered this in a hotel, This was not easy to make the first cup of tea in the morning. "Local, family managed hotel, located on a beautiful spot of the river. Lovely vibe, and welcoming and the breakfast was exceptional!! It’s not a Holiday Inn /Marriott formulaic residence, much more of an authentic local hotel, so without some of the frills, but the honest warm welcome and great food more than makes up"
