Beautiful and peaceful
We had a great week here. The property was amazing and the owner was personable and had very quick responses to our questions. Everything was perfect, private yet close to town. Highly recommend this property.

This was the third time for us to stay at Park. The only way to a plain it's beauty is to say that is the most peaceful place on Earth that I have found yet. Thank you Fleur and Collin.

Going back in time
If you want to experience the spirit of ancient Ireland, and really touch the rich history of the Irish, there is no better place to stay than at this 400 year old, rustic, homey, and completely secluded cottage on the Irish sea. We have stayed several times and we loved it just as much this time as we did the first time. Colin and Fleur are the perfect property managers, just a phone call away if you need anything. If you want to stay in the Hilton and kiss the Blarney stone, that's great. But if you want a real, authentic taste of old Ireland, the people and the emerald sod, then this cottage is the place for you!

Idyllic Old World Romance with Modern Comforts
From the moment you arrive, you feel a sense of calm and yet enthusiasm for all Park has to offer. The cottage was all we had hoped it would be, and more! The beach is spectacular and private. We were surprised with how often we could enjoy the water. The nature and wildlife did disappoint. Exploring the surrounding area was a joy. The very thoughtful garden design did not feature in the description and was a pleasant surprise. Our 2 weeks at Park will go down as a travel highlight.

Beautiful cottage perfect location
This is a stunning old cottage with beautiful gardens. The location is remote but close to arklow and the busy town of Gorey We spent three weeks here and all the grand children loved it with private access to a stunning beach and we rarely saw anyone else on it and we spotted the sea lion most days The house is very well equipped with everything you would need without having to leave for anything except provisions It is spacious and comfortable in fact the pictures don’t do it justice. The owners were prompt and helpful in responding to our queries We all loved it and hope to return in the future Happy memories!!

Stunning Private Getaway
History and charm abound in this farmhouse from the early 1600s. While containing the necessities of modern living, the joys of the property are the historic details. The house contained a library of Irish authors and travels which were handy to have. Our nephew really appreciated the available toys and kids books. The grounds were spectacular! Beautiful gardens were all around the house. The barn ruins were a delightful historic element. However, it was the view of the Irish Sea and beach access that really solidified this as an exciting location. The walk down to the beach was a little difficult for the older family members but well worth it. Be sure to follow the suggested landmarks to get to the property. The last left turn (unfinished gate) might be better described as a sharp left before the concrete block posts. Our seven-person extended family had a wonderful time at this property as a home base for our Ireland adventure.

Amazing and relaxing retreat
We chose Fleur’s and Colin’s holiday home earlier this year, as my sister had wished for a visit to ireland as a gift for her 50th birthday. The pictures and reviews made the property our favorite and so we booked our stay in mid September. And what can we say. This place is really amazing and charmed us the moment we arrived, even it wasn’t the best weather on our first day. But soon the rain stopped. And with this our discovery of this amazing property really started. No disturbing noises, it’s like a calm, own world. The historic house with its modern equipment, beautiful garden, the amazing view over the sea, the trees around the house and property just help to relax and make it a perfect holiday retreat. I can only advise any visitor to take a walk on the premise at sunset or sundown time. Also great is the beach below the property. A special Thank You to Fleur: Your mail with the perfect instructions on how to get to the place, your welcome call on the first day and the call the day before we left again were great and show that you care for your guests. I hope to get a chance to visit this place again.

A Wonderful Retreat!
My sister found this cottage online two years ago when looking for possible places for us to stay during our sibling excursion to Ireland. “This is it!” she said......and it was! Colin’s detailed information and directions leading us to this beautiful little cottage by the sea were very helpful. It immediately felt like home, with its quaint decor and cozy living areas. The newly remodeled kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. It was an easy trip into Arklow for shopping and supplies. From the windows and gardens, the private beach and sea were visible, and wildlife (hares, foxes, and pheasants) could be seen, especially at dusk. Colin and the local contacts were readily available to answer any questions. The cottage was very clean and the property well maintained. This is a place to relax and experience the beautiful Irish coastline. We will never forget our stay and hope to return again sometime. The McDaniels

Exquisite property!
I cannot wait to return to this house so I hesitate to give it a fabulous review for fear it will never be available again! We had a wonderful time in this centuries old home that is located on a very private spot at the end of road, literally. One has to pass through three gates to reach this spot and pay quite precise attention to the written instructions provided by the owner (don't miss the communal water pump on the left...) Do not arrive for the first time in the dark! This home is located on the Irish Sea and the rocky beach is quite private, we never saw another soul. The grounds are beautifully kept and Donal comes and mows the lawns on Tuesday. There are lovely gardens that frame the old stone barn at the edge of the property over looking the sea. The house itself is well preserved given the age and has fully updated bathrooms and a wonderful kitchen that provided every amenity possible. We generally had a full Irish breakfast of rashers and eggs with brown bread and then spent the day touring locally or in Dublin. We usually had dinner on the way home but did cook a few times and appreciated the dishwasher. There is a small dining area in the kitchen but if it is a lovely morning one can also eat outside at the table in front of the house on the "patio." There is one bedroom downstairs and three upstairs and can sleep 8 altogether so it is ideal for a family. Our favorite part of the day was sitting in the living room with a glass of wine and a book enjoying a peat fire in the fireplace, super relaxing. The owner, Colin, is quite solicitous and helpful and this home has everything one might need for a peaceful vacation. If you prefer wild nightlife this is not the place for you...I have never slept better!

Isolated cliff top cottage
This amazing cottage is to be found in a very isolated spot the last km over a rough track (takes approx 15-20mins ), with three gates to open and shut, but worth it once you get there. Remember this cottage is 17th century, it has central heating, easily controlled, electric blankets on comfortable clean beds, modern kitchen facilities (oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge washing machine) and bathrooms making it cosy warm and homley but is most definatley an old cottage with tlied floors, creaky stairs, low ceilings and spiders in the rafters which add to the inherant charm of this beautifully preserved cottage. You can lie in bed watching and listening to the sea just yards away, reached by a specially cut pathway in the cliff leading to your own personal beach, great for picking up shells and stones. The grounds are laid out with sheltered lawns, sit outside the front of the cottage with glass of tea/wine and enjoy the sun coming up or going down. Although isolated the large town of Arklow is about 15-20 minutes away with a huge modern Tesco which had all the supplies needed (including bottled water and cheap kettle, as we are not used to hard water where we come from, also had to make sure we bought the english water as bottled irish water was just has hard, no scottish available!) Arklow also has a shopping centre with a 9 screen cinema, great has the new Harry Potter was realeased the week of our holiday! Eddie Rockets American Diner in the shopping centre was a great hit with all three generations in our party! The isolated spot made it easy to lie around reading and relaxing, but we did some sightseeing, the main roads in Ireland are amazing, the N11 reachable within 15-20 mins All tourist sites are so easy to find, we didnt have a proper map but if you just followed the signs onto the motorway and off again onto the main N roads. We reached everything with no problems visiting Avoca with its working mill shop and fabulous cafe, sampling Guinness in the local pub. We also headed to Glendalough,a magical anceint monastic site, which also has woolen mills nearby with outlet shops. We had a splendid day in Dublin as we had to drop some of our party at the airport (1.5 hours journey) Again the roads were great , we took a city bus tour and chose to visit the historic Kilamainham Jail, and shopping centre surrounding O'Connel St. We also visited the Japanese Gardens and National Stud by Kildare. You must have a car to holiday here.

Family holiday
We have been home now for little over a week. I can still hear the waves of the Irish sea, smell the sea air, and picture in my mind the breathtaking views. All the reviews are right on point. Colin, Fleur, Donald, and Jolita were very attentive to our needs and only a phone call or email away. The cold weather and almost daily rain did not deter our family from getting together and create unforgettable memories to be cherished for a lifetime. We enjoyed multiple daily walks on the almost deserted beach and frigid dips in the Irish Sea. In the evening after dinner, we sat by the fireplace and reminisced about our day. And when it was time for bed we could not wait to snuggle under the beautiful bed linen and blankets, and fall asleep to the sound of the waves…priceless Thank you Colin and Fleur for sharing Park with us. We will never forget the time we spent there.

A real Gem!
On approaching the property, we were hugely impressed by the spectacular views from the hilltop – remarkable! This house sits on a lovely, very well-maintained large garden full of its own personality. Access to the private beach at the end of the garden is a path which is also well looked after and easy to descend and climb. Incredible view again of the Irish Sea from the house and garden. The house itself is Infused with all the charm and character of a delightful 17th Century farmhouse. The kitchen itself is fully equipped and has all the modern appliances required. All the bedrooms are charming spacious, comfortable and inviting. We had a lovely week in this house. Colin and Fleur made sure we had everything for a most enjoyable holiday. We would recommend this property without hesitation

A hidden gem so good I hate to share it.
We stayed at this property in July for a week. Probably one of the best weeks I’ve ever had in Ireland although the weather helped greatly. The location is great. Only an hour or so from Dublin but it feels like you are far away. The house and gardens are as described. The gardens are really beautiful and very well manicured. The farmhouse is everything you would expect from a 17th century building. The decor is very much in keeping with the style. That said it makes it all the better. Don’t be worried however there are all mod cons available. My two girls 7 & 10 were very comfortable, able to watch TV when tired from the sun/ beaches or garden playing on the swings. Saving the best for last is the views. Phenomenal. The house and gardens are situated on a hill/cliff surrounded by farmland and over looking the sea and a beautiful large private beach/cove. We sat out every evening looking out at the sea. No tv needed! My kids had a ball. The private beach with the walkway down was great and there is also a fantastic beach 2 mins away ( Clogga beach). The kids loved it. For dinner or shopping there are loads of option in Arklow and Gorey which is just down the road. Finally the hosts were excellent. Friendly, fast and clear communication and were able to help us with anything we needed.

Irish interlude
Our family, four adults and three children under ten, stayed here for one week this past September. Everything was as described in the VRBO site. The location was about an hour south of Dublin by car as well as by train. Locally the house is comfortably removed but not remote. It sits on a gentle cliff overlooking the Irish Sea. The property is extensive including the groomed lawn area. The beach, if not formally private, may as well be so. It spans a quarter mile with near one hundred feet depth. We utilized it way more than we expected. The house was very comfortable living/cooking/eating-wise and quiet as could be, other than soft wave sounds, at all times. Three bedrooms on the second floor one on the main. Both baths are across the hall from each other on the main adjacent to the bedroom. We seven shared easily. The kitchen accommodated three cooks and the dining room table expands to seat seven. Privacy and safety was never an issue. We were comfortable on and off the property including the beach. Arklow is nearby for groceries, fuel, train station and whatever. Gorey to the south is the more picturesque with shops, pubs and a great fruit seller as you approach Gorey from the north. We visited Trim Castle directly from the airport then focused on locations in the southeast. Everywhere we visited, including daily pub lunches, we were received with pleasantries and conversation. Not a bad word a say about any encounters in Ireland. However Aer Lingus needs a lot more legroom! Colin, our host, stayed in touch while we were there and was eager to insure our comfort and satisfaction. Enjoy.

Great Relaxing Stay at Park
Not often you get to stay in a place that evokes life many years ago but has the comforts of today's travel Great loccation on the irish Sea, away from the world, but very connected and easy to get to very scenic and intersting places in Ireland. The property owner, handyman were very easy to reach and helpful for the very few questions we had. The surrounding towns, countryside, and national parks were easy to get to and lovely. Highly recommend.

A lovely home in a lovely place
We spent a really lovely week at the beginning of July in this lovely home. We had lovely weather and the many different areas of the garden allowed teenagers, parents and youngsters to enjoy themselves together or apart. The house is comfortable and the proximity -by a winding grassy path - to a stony beach is magic. Morning swims and evening dips..... We saw one family and two foxes on the beach in the space of a week. And then star gazing and picnics.. all without leaving the house.

A magical two weeks!
Very few places live up the the word “idyllic” but the Park farmhouse did and then some. It was like stepping back in time — with all of the gardens, views from the old farmhouse ruins to the ocean, and the charm of the current house with it’s four bedrooms and parlors. But it also had all the amenities you would want in modern day conveniences such as dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. The private beach was stunning and our neighbors were cows and horses grazing in verdant fields as far as the eye can see. It was a quick 10 minute ride to the town center of Arklow, the charming fishing port, with shops, pubs and local grocery stores. Gorey and Avoca (home to the weavers of Irish linens and wools you can tour) are a quick drive as well. We all took the 1 hour bus ride into Dublin a few times to go see the sights and hit the Temple Bar pubs. For day trips, the Wicklow Mountains and Waterford were fun and easy. We also visited the nearby Glendalough ancient monastery with beautiful walking trails to two lakes. Colin, the owner, provided A+++++ service in booking and throughout our 2-week stay. There were fresh linens and towels brought in along with a cleaning lady once a week to keep the home spotless. This is a special place that you can see a lot of care and love has been given. Beds and pillows were comfy too! If you do spend a holiday here, we also highly recommend having dinner at D’arcy McGees overlooking the Avoca river on the balcony and enjoying the tastiest fish and chips around (don’t forget to ask for their curry sauce to dip the chips - delicious!)

Incredibly unique home with a garden and sea views like no other
This is an extremely unique and quirky house. It’s a bit like being in a museum, except that you are allowed to touch and examine things. I was delighted by the rustic details in the house like the handmade doors that aren’t square like our modern-day constructions. We adults had to duck to get through some doorways, but it was something we found to be quite charming in this historic home. Colin was quite attentive and checked in on us during our stay via telephone to make sure we had no troubles. He provided lovely linens on the beds and fresh white towels for our stay. There was a basket of beach towels available for our use on the beach, which was nice. We had good hot baths and showers and there is even a heated towel rack. The kitchen has a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a coffee maker, and a tea kettle. There is a washer and dryer available, as well, but you can also hang your laundry out on a large clothes line in the garden. WiFi was available which is a must-have for those of us who like to get away from it all but still be connected to the outside world. The landscaping and gardens of this property are spectacular and it is clear that a lot of love and careful planning has gone into them. We walked the nicely mown path behind the house and discovered a tree house, which delighted my children. There is outdoor furniture available to sit on, a rock bench under some trees, and picnic tables in the old barn ruin overlooking the sea. We really enjoyed our time here spent outside soaking up the sun in the gardens and taking in the sea views. The beach is easily accessed from the house through a lovely set of steps notched out of the hill side. It felt very special to be able to walk down to our own private beach from our own beautiful gardens. The beach itself is primarily made of interesting stones and pebbles, but there is a sandy portion that our children enjoyed building sand castles in. The beach cave was not accessible because of the tides, but it still was a marvel to behold. Overall, this is a very special place.

We had a great time in Park. The historical home was just what we needed for our stay in Ireland. The house was wonderful and peat fires perfect. Get away from the crowd & access east Ireland
After spending several days in Dublin, we were anxious to leave the bustle behind and see the Irish countryside. Colin's place, Park, is the ideal way to get away from it all, yet access the best eastern Ireland has to offer (Powerscourt, Glendalough, Avoca weavers, Wicklow Town and more). This farmhouse is outfitted with all the necessary modern conveniences, yet retains an old world charm, and best of all, privacy. Down a country lane and through three gates, you won't have any unwanted visitors passing by, and a whole beach essentially to yourself. If your family or friends seek quietude, this is the place!

This is a wonderful 400year old house in a spectacular location
My family and I will never forget the wonderful time we had at “Park”. The walks on the beach and down the lane. The peat fires and Irish Tea at night. The moon’s reflection on the sea in the evening as we stood outside and watched the stars. Morning breakfast outside overlooking the ocean. The short drives to Arklow, Redcross, Gorey. The day trips to Glendalough,Powerscourt,Dublin, New Ross, and Hook lighthouse The location allows you to explore the whole Wicklow area and beyond. Colin was very helpful and called at the start of our visit to make sure all was well and answer questions. He also called at the end of our visit and asked for any suggestion we might have. He was great!! We were at Park from June 23-June 30, 2018. The weather was clear and warm We will always look back at the time we spent at “Park” and appreciate the memories and how lucky we were to find this “Little bit of Heaven” Bob B from Northridge California
