The welcome breeze off the mountains, the owners advice on keeping windows and shutters closed in the day, and the floor fans absolutely did the job of keeping us comfortable in 38C heat. "This is a lovely apartment with a gorgeous view of the sea. It is comfortable, quiet, and feels very safe. The taxi will take you from the ferry dock to the apartment for 10 euros. The roads are safe to walk and bike. There are beaches in easy walking distance. Plan to shop for groceries at the supermarket in the main town and phone a taxi to take you back, though, because it is too far to walk with a week's worth of food/drink. There is a mini shop about 15 minutes walk that is good for snacks...

"Beautiful stone house easily slept the 5 in our family. Calming and peaceful for the most part, but the dog next door would bark until 1am every night, which was frustrating. All the contact with the John was quick and pleasant, but everything was in Greek. (Yes, I know…it’s in Greece.) But all of the house rules, instructions, etc., were all in Greek, which made things difficult for us, as I am the only member of my family who knows a little Greek. Could make things interesting for non-Greek...

"This was a perfect place to stay in Olympia. Views were amazing from the balcony. Host was very helpful and responsive. Thoroughly enjoyed this stay. I would recommend a car for travel as this location is up in elevation. "

"Plus: Wonderful terraces overlooking Kalamata. Negative: This is a stone house and can be quite cold. We successfully heated the living room area, but could not heat the lower bedroom. Also the house is a long way up a winding road and somewhat out of town."
