PLEASE NOTE ASH COTTAGE IS NOT FOR RENT INTO THE FUTURE SO,PLEASE DO NOT BOOK. REGARDS
Ash Cottage dates back to 1914. It is situated on an acre of private land. A complete renovation and restoration has been done to the cottage using materials sourced from old buildings & historical sites from all over Ireland to retain its character. Limestone sourced from a local quarry & Knocklong Creamery, cills from Killarney Railway Station, sleepers from the old Galway railway line & Military House Curragh, flooring from Donnybrook Hospital, church pew & notice board from Dunamaise Church and 150 year old Killaloe & Balmoral slates are just a few items used. It has been modernised with new appliances, new windows and doors. The decor has a rustic/modern feel with plenty of character and a focus on comfort and restfulness.
With its open plan concept living/dining area & double glazed large french windows it has a spacious and bright feel while retaining the charm of traditional stone cottage with its sash windows and stable front door & solid stone walls.
The kitchen has all conveniences with a large island unit. White subway tiles and black granite countertop create a modern feel while the rustic furniture and natural wood floors create a traditional cottage feel.
The dining area has a large 6ft dining table and plenty of seating area along the old church pew.
Sash windows on each side of the sitting room creates a bright but cosy space to relax, there is a large L shaped sofa with a wood burning stove and a flat screen satellite channel tv. High speed broadband/wifi is available or board games supplied.
Other things to note
The wetroom style bathroom, solid wood flooring & wide internal doors in the cottage makes it wheelchair accessible throughout.
