So sad
It's very difficult to know how to rate this hotel. A beautiful old inn set in a stunning location. A few irritations though, made what could have been a fabulous experience into an expensive let down. Over 300 euros for dinner bed and breakfast warrants more personal care and attention. After driving up a very narrow track you arrive at the car park. Press the button on a large gate, not a word of welcome on the intercom. Gate opens and off you and your baggage trek, down 42 steep cobbled steps. Do not come if you are old and infirm. It would have been wonderful if we had been told to wait and someone would come and help us with our bags. At reception a gentleman, the manager?, muttered unintelligibly, shrugged and looked quizzically at our booking form. We speak reasonable Spanish, but found him very difficult to understand. This purports to be a luxury boutique hotel. It would have been lovely to have had eg a glass of Cava while we waited and to have felt welcomed. There was no information about the garden, pool, spa etc. later the wifi didn't work. More shrugging of shoulders, a switching on and off of the TV lead to nothing. The pool has been painted brown?! I suppose it was meant to blend with surrounding scenery, but it looks grubby and uninviting. Only 6 loungers, some reserved with books and towels, how annoying in sat his class of Posada. A small bar near pool..unmanned.. honesty bar?? Who knows? Water features not working made this area look somewhat run down.
