Family friendly, with a large, enclosed garden, and easy walking and cycling from the door, this comfortable and welcoming house is cosy enough for two and big enough for a family group, with impressive vistas from practically every window.
Mealtimes are a delight thanks to the well-equipped kitchen, and even indoors you’ll feel as though you are dining outside. You may want to throw open the doors and take your meal to the outside table to enjoy the panoramic views, finishing off with a glass of something on the front terrace as you watch the sunset. If you prefer cooking outdoors, the large fire pit has a hanging griddle which makes a perfect barbecue. Sitting on a starry night ’fire watching’, you will feel as though you are far away from the rest of the world. Indoors you can relax and snuggle up cosy on deep comfy sofas and watch TV, read a book, or just watch the ever-changing sky and the geese flying in for their bedtime rest. At bedtime, the rooms are attractive, silent and welcoming for a restful night’s sleep. There are four bedrooms, which include a kingsize with en-suite, a super king or twin option, both with patio doors, a double room and a comfortable children’s room with bunk beds and, if required, a travel cot.
Situated in west-facing Cuil Bay, you are in an excellent location for sailing, canoeing, swimming, boating, wind surfing and diving, just minutes from your door! The area is a delight for walkers, surrounded by stunning coastal and mountain walks, with many Munro class mountains close by. The villages of Appin and Port Appin are just a short 4-mile walk and offer a choice of cafés and inns, all offering delicious local food, as well as gift shops, a renowned garden centre and a garage with fuel. To the north within 2 miles is Kentallen, offering a fantastic restaurant with bar and a swimming pool, and within a 10-minute drive are the villages of Ballachulish and Glencoe, which offer small supermarkets, cafés, bars, restaurants and activities. Steeped in history and surrounded by the most breath-taking scenery, Glencoe offers many sports and outdoor activities, including winter sports, climbing, fishing, water sports, mountain biking and golfing. Despite its tranquillity, Duror is conveniently located between Fort William, known as the ’Outdoor Capital of the UK’, where you can access Ben Nevis, the Aonach Mor mountain range which has a gondala up the mountain, mountain bike trails, ropes courses and much more! Just 40 mins from the popular town of Oban, the ‘Seafood Capital of Scotland’ and ‘Gateway to the Isles’, which has an abundance of shops and restaurants, as well as ferries to islands such as stunning Mull, Iona and Staffa, amongst others.
