The Capitol Hotel is elegant, beautifully fashionable in an understated sophisticated calming manner. All staff are excellent and very polite and attentive. Breakfast is a phenomenal treat of fresh fruits, vegetables, berries, fish, meats, baked pastries, jams etc.
My only comment is that both lunch (in the main dining room) portions and the Chinese dinner portions are slightly too small but absolutely delicious and the service is excellent.
We loved our 2 night stay and our morning swims above the city skyline; breathtaking views!!

This really is the epitome of a five-star hotel. The service was unbelievable, view from the room was beautiful and the restaurants inside the hotel were fantastic

The hotel is beautiful. It is not close to Tokyo's main attractions, but the price is very reasonable, and the metro station is across the street. The only thing I disliked was that the restaurant kitchen closed at 9 pm; they served us wine, but we were hungry. We brought a little bag of peanuts we had in our room, and they wanted to charge us 300 yen for eating them. The waiter was very rude when he told us to stop eating, then he called the manager, who told us we had to pay. We weren't taking away their business; it was a small bag of peanuts, and they didn't have food. That was ridiculous.

"Very good hotel overall, however, rooms were tiny. Great breakfast. Great area, especially being 1 block away from the Government Metropolitan Building. And very near the Shinjuku Train Station, very good location."
