Antique Log Cabin Near Charlottesville & Wineries/Sauna/May Graduation Discounts

Antique log cabin C. 1810, recently relocated and lovingly restored. We are approximately 20 miles from Charlottesville, local to numerous wineries, and 38 miles from Massanutten Ski Resort. Here you can enjoy a rustic getaway, with all of the modern features you need to be perfectly comfortable. You will find yourself surrounded by an abundance of wildlife: Deer, Turkey, Foxes, Eagles, Osprey, Herons and more (a bird-watcher’s paradise!). Look out the window and be met with top notch country views- 110 acres of rolling pastures, pristine ponds, and marked walking trails. If you plan to use the trails or ponds, let us know and we will be happy to give you a tour upon arrival! Our trout pond will be re-stocked mid-October, 2024 with approx. 800 lbs. of Rainbow trout, averaging between 2-3 lbs. Watch the video tour to see a clip of a past release! Many citation fish are caught from our ponds annually. A sportsman's delight!

While pets are generally discouraged, we are pet tolerant depending on the age, size and breed of the animal.

Perfect Escape from the City
This stylishly appointed cabin has all of the modern amenities with the feel of an historic 1800s log cabin. Set on a working horse farm with over 100 acres and dotted with ponds, it was the perfect escape.

Beautiful cabin, I think it looked even better than the photos. Very cozy! The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were very nice and moderns, especially the shower. The hosts were great, very friendly. Would recommend and would love to Go back!

Wedding Weekend
Wik hosted our micro-wedding weekend event at his lovely horse farm and log home estate. The property is beautiful and serene and was the perfect spot for our intimate family retreat. The log home is immaculate and well appointed. We enjoyed fishing, yard games and relaxing on the porch, followed by s'mores on the bonfire by the pond. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed it!

What a perfect stay! The cabin and property are simply beautiful! The cabin had everything we needed and everyone in our party had a wonderful and comfortable stay. Romantic and Peaceful
Our stay has been nothing less than amazing. This cabin is so beautiful with all its charming details. The surroundings are breathtaking. The ponds, the friendly horses, and walking trails made it extra special. Wik is an excellent host and makes sure everything has been taking care of. The beds are super comfy, showers and sauna look new, and the overall rustic vibe makes you feel at home from the moment you walk through the door. We will definitely return one day.

Tranquillity and comfort
The home more than met our expectations! The setting is so peaceful. We spent mornings (and into the afternoon!) relaxing on the porch while the men drove nearby to fly fish. Awesome stay
Couldn’t have been better. The property is gorgeous and having the ponds to fish was awesome. My husband and brother-in-law caught a lot of fish and had a great time. It was also really cool waking up every morning and seeing the horses that are on the property. So much wildlife and so quiet. Absolutely beautiful. Cabin was super clean and super spacious. The host couldn’t have been more accommodating. We would definitely go back. Don’t hesitate to stay here.

Charming cabin escape
Our family of four enjoyed a delightful stay in this immaculate property. The secluded spot is very quiet and peaceful. We made use of the many amenities...stocked fish pond, wonderful new sauna, fireplace with plenty of split wood, well-appointed and efficient kitchen for easy meals. The cabin was very clean and the owners have restored it with high quality finishes. They were also very responsive prior to arrival and Wik provided excellent communication while we were staying on the property. Highly recommend!

Super Cabin for Superbowl Weekend!!!
Our stay at this wonderful oasis was a trip to remember. The cabin was way more than we even imagined with the scenic views over the trout ponds and rolling hills. Horses Copper and Spatz were so nice to have as vacation pets right next to the cabin. The cabin was so nice and spacious giving us that feeling of home. Quiet secluded cabin and property
Cabin is within an hour drive to almost any attractions you want to visit. It’s set up very well for guests. We did not need anything that was not supplied while on site. The basement floor is concrete and if you do not wear shoes inside might want to bring something to wear cause it can be cold. Wik, the on-site host, was fantastic and very accommodating and always available. There are trails on the site and when we stay again would spend more time on porch and property just relaxing. Quiet retreat with everything you need
We stayed here for a lacrosse tournament weekend with two adults and two boys. The boys got to fish, while the adults got to kick back and enjoy the quiet life. The location of the cabin was absolutely beautiful! The cabin, itself, is clearly renovated and clean. We had everything we could possibly need, and more. The property manager is extremely helpful. I have never had someone go so far above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, but also to make sure you get your space to relax and enjoy. We're definitely going back!

Updated log cabin
The cabin is a beautiful blend of reclaimed wood and whitewashed shiplap paneling. The construction is fairly new and up to date in all aspects. All rooms are large and spacious. The kitchen could be a little larger but is quite functional. Our family enjoyed using the trails, canoeing on the lake. Our 6 year old grandson caught his first fish - a nice 1 lb rainbow trout. We hope to go back soon.

Quiet Country House
We spent several days here for our son's wedding in nearby Ruckersville. We have stayed at a number of VRBO properties but this one stood out for communication with and actually meeting the owner of the property. Wik Dove met us and escorted down to their wonderful home next to a pond on their country estate. Daily he saw us go by, he would wave, and text us to find out if we needed anything. He even remembered the day of our son's wedding and wished us all the best. The home is very quiet with a nice view of rolling hills and countryside from the porch. It is nicely equipped and comfortable with additional air conditioning for the top floor. Many thanks to Wik and Anna for hosting us!

Authentic cabin on a beautiful horse farm
We were so excited to celebrate Valentine’s Day, our wedding anniversary and my husband’s birthday during our get away. This cabin is so beautiful with all the modern amenities. What a surprise when we arrived. It is beyond special and beautifully appointed. The host was so gracious and attentive. The horse farm is approximately 110 acres with three ponds. We enjoyed walking the property each day. We love to fly fish and there are plenty of Rainbow trout in the ponds. The cabin is close to wineries and Charlottesville. We drove to Keswick one evening for dinner at one of the best restaurants in Virginia, Marigolds. We had lunch one day at the Barboursville Winery. We look forward to coming back to this fantastic property.

Heaven on Earth
Everything you would ever want for a vacation! The restored/rebuilt cabin is nothing short of amazing, from the craftsmanship, to the fine furnishings, to the modern conveniences and amenities. We walked the beautiful property and trails, and fished and relaxed by the ponds. We traveled to nearby towns for antique shops, explored different areas of Charlottesville, visited the Monticello, and traveled Skyline Drive in Shenendoah National Park. This property is quiet, secluded, and a real treat to nature enthusiasts like our family. We spent hours rocking on the porch while watching fawns and bald eagles daily. Wic was the most gracious and thoughtful host who made us feel welcome and at home. His hospitality and special touches made us feel like family. One week was not enough. We cannot wait to return to this property, it is truly Heaven on Earth!
