I’ve never stayed at any hotel where not a single member of staff speaks English. Considering Antalya is the 4th most visited destination in the world and the biggest holiday spot for Brit’s, you’d have thought someone would speak basic English but no. Staff had to try and use google translate to communicate which caused significant problems. Ceiling in room was covered in mould, went to the toilet to find a bug I still have never seen (it was the size of my hand) crawling around the floor. Paint was chipped and peeling away from the walls. Staff were extremely unhelpful, rude and lazy. I stayed in the room for 6 hours before checking out and getting another hotel. When I attempted to check out the manager very conveniently then spoke perfect English encouraging me to stay after not even being able to understand the word ‘hello’ hours earlier. Manager refused to let me check out, shrugged his shoulders and said (via google translate) ‘what do you want from me?’ Well all I wanted was a member of staff to check me out, so I just left the key and walked out. Also there are no fire alarms, no fire escapes, no smoke detectors and the entire building stank of cigarette smoke. Also the building has 4 floors, I stayed on the 2nd floor but the stairwell leading up to the higher floors were BLOCKED by furniture and mattresses and I could hear loud voices up there, some of them women. Was this hotel a front for or hiding a brothel on the higher floors? Or were they just illegal migrants
