The Ballyhoo is a ground floor cottage located on Bean Point at the very tip of Anna Maria Island. Around the corner, (200 feet away) is the Rod and Reel Pier and beach. A classic 1940s old Florida fishing pier. The pier is an excellent place to see all our local wildlife, dolphins, herons, pelicans, and if you are lucky, maybe a manatee. The pier offers some of the best fishing on the island. A family friendly place with very good food and drink. With panoramic views of Tampa Bay, the Skyway, Egmont Key and civil war era lighthouse, it's not to be missed. Take one our provided bikes or walk to nearby historic Pine Ave. where you'll find your choice of 12 restaurants, shops, art galleries and Roser Church built in 1913 by the inventor of the Fig Newton. While on Pine Ave. don't forget to visit the Anna Maria City Jail and the Anna Maria City Pier. At the City Pier you will find a free trolley that will take you anywhere on the island and back, trolley leaves approximately every half hour. The Ballyhoo is perfect for weekend getaways, fishing, shelling, or just relaxing and getting away from it all! Everything is included except food, your bathing suit and toothbrush! Come relax with us and have fun!

Anna Maria Cottage
Very nice , clean and cozy house. Great location , less than 5 min walk to Rod and Reel Pier. Close to boat ramps for charter fishing trips and theres a lot to do on or near the island without having to travel far. Love the house and we're already planning our next stay

Great location, good clean unit, comfortable beds, could use some updates/repairs to the bikes, chair's and such but great deal for the money. Overall it was perfect for us to be able to stay on the island!

Great Stay!!
We really enjoyed our time on the island. Ed was wonderful with everything from check in, local recommendations, great communication and just overall very friendly. The space was just as described and the bikes made for a great outdoor day including a ride for ice cream. We highly recommend and would definately stay again.

The cottage is clean and well furnished Nothing fancy but a lot for the price. I will be returning
The cottage was a short walk to the beach as well as the Rod & Reel Pier which is a funky historical restaurant and bar. Could not be a better location on the island.

Beach Vacation
We had a great stay. Very clean, great location. The living room furniture has been updated since pictures were taken. The location is great. We walked to the pier for sunrise everyday and to Bean Point for sunset everyday. Both are right down the street. We also were able to walk to Pine Ave for ice cream and shopping. Fun area! We will definitely be back

Great location
First time our family stayed on this side of the island. The house is in a great location to access the bay park for snorkeling, bean point for fishing and Pine Ave for shopping. The house had everything we need. The best part for my wife was the A/C was cold.

Lovely Cottage Just Steps from the Water
We really enjoyed being a short walk to beach access and the Rod and Reel Pier. The house was clean. The neighborhood was quiet. The area locals were very friendly and helpful. The owner was very polite and accommodating. The house was well stocked with everything we needed to make our stay most enjoyable.

This is a super cute impeccably clean midcentury duplex with tons of retro touches in a location central to bay and beach. Easy walk to both bay and gulf beach. Totally stocked with towels, blankets, fishing supplies, and bikes. Loved it.

Cute cottage close to Tampa Bay and Rod &Reel Pier
Very cute and very clean cottage close to the beautiful Tampa Bay and downtown Anna Maria. This cottage has everything you need for a pleasant stay in Anna Maria! I recommend this cottage and will be back! The owner even supplies bikes for guests although we didn’t get to use them due to unusual cold weather this Christmas! We will be back!

We had a wonderful stay here! Ed the host is very helpful and communicative with anything you need. The location is great! Right by the Rod & Reel pier(perfect spot for a sunrise), the entrance to Bean Point is a quick walk as well. But also far enough away from the main roads that it's quiet. Also though easy enough wall to hop on the trolley. House was super clean and well air conditioned to cool off in. Use this space as a perfect, quiet getaway!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Ballyhoo! Everything you need (except food) is supplied. Washer/dryer, one beach chair and umbrella as well as bicycles. Walking distance to Rod and Reel Pier and restaurant and short distance to beach and shopping within bicycle ride. Our host Ed was more than accommodating and we hope to enjoy another stay at the Ballyhoo.

Cozy house, excellent location!
Very clean and well stocked house. Absolute perfect location, right across from pier and beaches. Not crowded at all on the north end. Kitchen had all the dishes and accessories we needed. Plenty of towels and toiletries for our whole stay. There were even bikes, beach cart and canopy, and fishing gear available for use. Ed was happy to answer any questions before and during our stay, and even had quite a few good suggestions for dining and activities. Would stay here again if we get the opportunity!

Description stated that the beach was was 200 feet from the property, which was our primarly destination. It was more like 400 feet to the water that was rocky and mostly private. We had to walked several blocks to get to a beach to lay on.

We loved our stay at Ed’s place!!! Amazing communication and so helpful answering any questions we had!! We really loved the provided bikes! Rented tag along bikes from Beach Bums for the kids! So much fun biking the north end of the island and finding beautiful beach entrances and breakfast spots. Super close to Rod and Reel pier! We also loved Bayfront park! Great beach spot with shade! Other great things: Comfortable beds, towels and sheets provided, beach chairs provided!
