-Lake Hartwell is a 55,000 acre impoundment with 980 miles of shoreline. Great for sailing, boating, fishing, or just plain relaxing and gazing over the tranquil waters.
-In February 2008, in February 2015, and again in March 2018, Lake Hartwell was the site of the $1,200,000 B.A.S.S. BASSMASTER’s CLASSIC known as the “super bowl” of Bass Fishing tournaments.
-Striper/Hybrid fishing is excellent and has caused quite a stir at Lake Hartwell. It can be very exciting when large schools begin to feed on the surface. Several guide services are available.
-Recreation Areas offering designated beach/swim areas such as Singing Pines, Hartwell Dam, Big Oaks, and Watsadlers are only minutes away.
-Hartwell Dam & Visitor Center offers brochures, maps, displays, and information about Hartwell Lake, including tours of the Army Corps of engineers’ hydro electrical operations.
-Hartwell Dam Walking Trail begins beside the visitor center and is an extraordinarily scenic paved and handicap accessible 1.37-mile trail following the shoreline up to the concrete portion of Hartwell Dam. Fantistic views for a morning or evening walk or run.
