"Beautiful resort with super friendly and helpful staff. The water park looks amazing for kids (and adults too). Plenty of areas for adults to relax too. Only improvement is Netflix needs to be added to the TVs in bedrooms, the existing selection of mainly news channels is awful "

Upon arrival the hotel staff couldn’t be more accommodating, they are all very friendly and could help you enough, they are what make you feel like you are at home! "Absolutely fabulous. We travelled as a family and it was our 1st time in Crete and an adults only Hotel, our whole experience was outstanding from the moment we arrived at the hotel till the day of leaving. The staff went above and beyond to help us with our stay. Everything was great and the hotel staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend the hotel and will go back again."

"Really nice small hotel.The place was very clean ,nice room ,modern bathroom. The pool area was fantastic, very well kept, plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, nice snack bar offering food and drinks. "Lovely hotel, very contemporary and clean. My only issue was the buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner was way too busy and a bit of a bun fight. I would recommend booking one of the smaller restaurants for a much better experience. Other than that it was excellent thank you. "

"The property is very well maintained and clean, pools are beautiful, staff friendly and welcoming. Guest Services show a real desire to ensure you have a great stay. "Aquila Atlantis Hotel is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning and the options available were very good. Our room was spacious with comfortable beds. A building next to the hotel was being renovated/rebuilt and caused noise on some of the mornings we were there even with the window closed. Apart from that the hotel was quiet. We were disappointed that the air conditioning wasn’t available as the room got hot at night. We couldn’t leave the window open because of the building work. We were offered a fan, however. The bathroom was very nice but its layout was a bit strange as the toilet was in the shower cubicle. The shower was big but obviously the floor got wet when someone had a shower as did the toilet. Our only other issue was that because the balcony had a solid cement wall, when sitting on the balcony you couldn’t see anything. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Aquila Atlantic. "

Surrounded by beauty in central Heraklion

"Staying at the Metropole Urban Hotel in Heraklion was a highlight of our trip. This modern, centrally located hotel was immaculate, well-appointed and comfortable. Our room had a small balcony with gorgeous views of the Cathedral of Agios Minas set on a busy city square lined with restaurant terrasses and loaded with happy families, the children having the time of their lives playing football, hide-n-seek and riding scooters throughout the day and evening. Such an idyllic setting! We were within easy walking distance of shopping and popular attractions such as the Venetian Fortress on the water as well as the extraordinary Archaeological Museum. The staff at Metropole Urban were friendly and professional and the room rate was very reasonable, especially considering the extremely abundant and delicious breakfast that came with it. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a memorable Heraklion experience."

"Fantastic facilities and great options for all ages. Food quality is fantastic and the main restaurant has themed nights to keep it varied. Most of the food is also cooked fresh in open kitchens which is great. The dining area can be a bit noisy but there’s an adults only area which I’m sure would be quieter. Room was fantastic for us. We had 2 adjoining rooms for a family of 5 and had 4 separate sleeping areas. Staff were great although the bar staff were always stretched resulting in long queues. Water park area is fantastic. Kids loved it. The option of an indoor pool in low season also great if the weather is not great. Beach area is amazing and so are the never ending pool options. The kids club looked great although our kids were probably on the older side so didn’t participate. The play park is awesome. Huge climbing frames and crazy golf all within a secured gated area. Having the tennis/sports centre facilities adjacent to the hotel is also a great option with free table tennis within the sports centre building. Only suggestion is to consider table service as no one wants to spend up to 15mins queuing at the bar. Not really giving 5 star vibes. Was nice to see the hotel manager getting table service though… All in all, we’d likely return. "

"We traveled as a family: two of us and our 1.5-year-old. The room we stayed in was spacious. The beds were relatively comfortable, and the room was clean and well maintained. The biggest treat was the view. We had a room on the fourth floor with a spectacular view of the bay and the sea beyond. Breakfast was served on the top floor, and the dining area also had a spectacular view of the sea. The breakfast options were some of the best we experienced, including self-made Greek coffee and a self-assembled traditional Cretan meal, a hand juicer to make your own fresh orange juice an loads of other options for food and drinks. In January, the room was a little chilly and slightly humid, and this was an unpleasant combination. But thankfully the heating element worked well enough, and we made it fairly comfortable in the end. The staff were very friendly. There is a small tea/coffee bar on the ground floor which needs to be serviced by the concierge. There is no tea kettle in the room itself! This was probably the only downside for our stay since we would have liked to warm up some of the water for our daughter or had the ability to make tea ourselves. Lastly, there is a laundry business just a few steps away from the hotel. The man who runs the business dropped off our clean laundry at the hotel. So, keep this option in mind as you travel. As a whole, this hotel was excellent. Get a room with a sea view. It is worth it."
