The Space:
Barakat is a beautiful home, overlooking Lake Windermere. It is recently renovated and packed with eco-credentials and modern technology. It is located in an ideal spot to explore Ambleside, Windermere and the wider Lake District, although you might find it hard to tear yourselves away from the vistas on your very own doorstep. Nestled into a rugged slate outcrop, Barakat has outstanding views in every direction. What could be better than sitting on the slate terrace with a glass of wine, watching as the cattle wander down to the banks of the River Brathay to drink? Or watching the sun set over the magnificent Lakeland fells? Stroll down to the Wateredge Inn for lunch, before a wander around the Roman Fort ‘Galava’ directly opposite Barakat.
The house sleeps six people comfortably with three en-suite bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor; making it an ideal choice for families with several generations. It is a peaceful location making it not suitable for party bookings. There is a light, well equipped kitchen dining area; sumptuous sitting room, & plenty of off-road parking. Barakat is a great choice for an unforgettable break in the beautiful Lake District.

The Neighborhood:
The village of Ambleside is situated in the heart of the Lake District surrounded by plentiful natural beauty and full of Cumbrian charm and rich history. History can be found on Barakat's own doorstep with a 2nd century Roman Fort ruin that can be found less than a two-minute wander away! Towards the centre of the village Stock Ghyll Force can be found, a spectacular 70-foot waterfall or perhaps more familiarly there is the National Trust owned 17th Century Bridge House over Stock Ghyll beck is one of the most recognisable and photographed scenes in Lakeland! While Ambleside remains distinctly popular with walkers, climbers and those looking to get out and about on the lake, there is no shortage of shops, cafes restaurants and a local cinema.
Getting Around:
Barakat is a great location to travel to a number of local attractions and locations when out-and-about by car. The local bus routes run regularly from Ambleside and are found a short stroll from the house should you wish to explore other well-known locations such as Keswick, Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere to name a few. Ambleside proper can also easily be accessed on foot with the heart of the village just a leisurely 15-minute stroll away.
