"We had a most delightful two day stay at the Casa do Santo. Our wonderful host, Maria was full of local and historical knowledge and made us feel very welcome. Many generations of her family have tended the winery upon which this beautiful boutique hotel is built. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with beautiful views of the vineyards. Everything was first rate. The breakfast was outstanding and the hotel offers tapas and their very own fine wine in the evening. The hotel is located in a charming little village on the side of the valley with stunning views. You can literally hike from your room through the village down the side of the valley through ancient terraces with vineyards and olive groves. The trails leads down to the Douro River and should not be missed. Our stay was truly magical. "

"Amazing views of river. Minimalist decor allowing one to enjoy the gorgeous nature surrounding the entire property. The spa, gym, swimming pools, sauna and steam room were spectacular. The restaurant had a 5⭐️ chef. "

"A fantastic stay at a beautiful property with amazing views and surroundings - and dog friendly ! We had the best time including our Labrador who loved exploring the vineyards ! Shame we couldn’t use the pool as it wasn’t very suitable due to the weather, but nevertheless, it was a great experience ! Topping it off with great hospitality throughout !"

"Hotel within a gorgeous setting surrounded by vineyards and a great view of the Douro valley the food was also very good although the restaurant must add salads to their menu! I wish I had spent at least 3 days here just relaxing !!!"

"The staff and service is excellent. The individual rooms are a distance away from the lobby/restaurant, which I didn’t like so much. That, however, is secondary to the excellent staff and the large comfortable rooms. The wine tasting was extremely well done."
