"Stay was ok, wasn’t cleaned before hand, was a mess, but last minute cleaners did come out at 5pm, the gate was broken and hot tub was dirty also didn’t get clean until the next day. Was supposed to stay extra day but decided leave day earlier as we didn’t find it safe due to locks was broken and bathroom window didn’t shut properly and during the night was banging with the wind,overall wouldn’t recommend staying here. Cleaners were nice and helpful but this should have been done before hand. "

"We would highly recommend this property! Very cozy and homely. The welcome pack of essentials was very much appreciated. There were six of us and two dogs and there was plenty of room for all of us. All bedrooms are a good size. Easy to get to the beaches and surrounding areas. The cottage is located in very picturesque, peaceful surroundings. We instantly felt relaxed and enjoyed our time there immensely. We will hopefully be back and will take our golf clubs next time!"

"The house was mostly comfortable but needs some upkeep. The communication with the host was a challenge and they did not reply to most messages (even an acknowledgment of receipt would be okay). One of the showers we could not adjust the temperature, 2 of the showers had mold. One of the biggest challenges was trying to cook as the cookware is very worn and some of it unusable. "We booked the property to celebrate my father in laws 80th birthday so there were lots of people ranging from 2 months old to 102 years old! The house itself is fab and the accommodation on offer was great. Location is excellent being near Bolam Lake with some good walks. We had a few teething problems in terms of heating and some supplies but all in all had a good stay"

Adults and children really enjoyed our stay however having tv in the reception rooms downstairs would have been ideal. "We stayed at Crackin View for a long weekend just before Christmas for our annual family Christmas holiday. Ages ranging from 5 - 65 with quite a few teenagers. The house was perfect for what we needed. Plently of room and commual areas for our large family, the living room was a great layout for playing family games. "We recently had a 4 night stay at Dovecote house. A lovely house set in a primal location of all Alnwick local amenities. Upon arrival we were surprised by the size of the upstairs,3 double rooms, one twin and 2 bathrooms, just what we needed for a group of 7 adults 1 child, a baby and a dog . There were a few problems with the main bathroom, a bath that empties on its own whilst full, a light that was difficult to turn off and on and a unit around the sink which wasn’t attached. "Fantastic setting so peaceful with beautiful views. Very cosy well equipped cottage. A perfect base for exploring the beautiful countryside. Only downside was that the next door cottage was also a holiday home so privacy while in the amazing big conservatory with fantastic views of the countryside was limited. Blinds on that side would have earned an extra star."

Situated in a quiet area within walking distance of Budle Bay, it was easy to get to many places on the coast and we enjoyed a lot of long walks admiring the beaches and scenery, visiting Lindisfarne and even taking a train from Berwick to Edinburgh for the day!
