Austrian experience
This was a delightful house. We wanted a home for an Austrian alpine experience and this house accomplished that. Be aware that the beds are all singles pushed together and one room is bunkbeds. It sleeps 6 but that includes a sofa bed. The lake is directly in front of the house and is gorgeous and the trail around it is easy to enjoy. Bring food with you as it was not easy to find a store or restaurant when we first arrived. Although the photo is of the whole house, you only have access to the ground floor. This was located fairly close to Hallstatt and Salzburg and the ice cave. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery and hike around the lake.

Family Vacation Paradise
Perfect setup for two families of 4 with kids. Bunk beds, multiple toilets, laundry, ample kitchen and reading nooks, bikes to borrow, plenty of linens, towels. Owners were immediately responsive and generous in accommodating our lack of German! Steps from lake and pedestrian only path around the lake. Probably the most beautiful place we’ve ever visited and we’ve seen much of Europe and the US and Canada. Preferred the low-key vibe of Altaussee over Hallstatt and the other larger towns. 5 days was not long enough! A very fortunate find!

Absolutely great place. Very comfortable and relaxed. Lovely setting.
We had a great two nights at this charming place at Altaussee. Very comfortable and well appointed. Very nice to be able to do a load of laundry as well. So close to the lake and easy walk to the shops. Super spot. We’d love to return. Only suggestion would be to improve instructions on the location with a better signed number for the house as it was quite difficult to find. And would have really appreciated a few more spices and salt/pepper and olive oil to facilitate cooking. That said, it was a fabulous place which we would heartily recommend. Thank you so much!!
